Xero HQ - Client Groups Reporting
I use 'client groups' extensively in HQ. I need to see which clients are not in a group at all, and which ones are in more than one group, but this is not possible. Please allow us to report on which groups each client is in.
Hi community, just jumping in here to share that we have recently made an improvement to the groups feature in Xero HQ 🎉
Within a Client record, you can now see what groups they belong to, and add or remove them - check out this article for more information. Please note, this is not available as a report, but is available on a client by client basis.
While the team have been really busy working on the single client record, they also hope to introduce a Groups list and group details (similar to what is currently available in XPM) to increase the ability to manage Groups within HQ. We’ll be sure to return & update you here when that’s available.

Hi
I would love to be able to export individual groups information. eg I have a group for all my payroll clients. I would like to be able to export that group so I can send a mass email re super being due.
thanks -

Client list should have a Colum showing the Group the client belongs too

It would be nice if on the Clients screen on Xero HQ you can see the Client Group as one of the columns so that you can use the group to allocate your staff to specific client. The only way you can see it now is click on the client name and then you can see what group it is connected to. You cannot see it from the main screen. You can click on the client group next to filter and it will show all the clients that is under that group but there is no way that you can see who is not connected to a group as there is not an option for "no group".

Personally I think the whole Xero HQ is unfit for purpose and Xero should be ashamed about releasing this.
There are multiple issues with both HQ Clients and HQ staff with reporting, using etc.
A couple of examples:
Clients:
* you can't export groups - but apparently this is a common failing in other modules where you can create groups
* you have to keep clicking on 'show more' - if there's a limit on the number of items which can show, why can't it show up to 100, 200 etc as with other screens? Or better still - just show them all!!
Staff:
* you can't export the list of clients a team member is allocated to - and you can't even sort this list alphabetically - so no easy way of checking this is correct against a particular client group! Not the first time Xero have released something without thinking of the user or thoroughly checking it - and then don't put any resource into correcting their mistakes (and if this isn't an oversight or mistake based on not understanding how accountants use this data, then even more so shame on you Xero!)

It's impossible to manage client groups right now.
Want to see which client group each client is assigned to? - Can't do it.
Want to see which clients haven't been assigned to a group? - Can't do it.
By including the client group as a Custom Column view this resolves all of those issues.

Adding "Client groups" in the "Custom column view" on the HQ dashboard would help identify which clients are not in a group. When you export the list of clients it would then be easy to filter in Excel.
Also being able to Export a particular client group list to Excel. At the moment, if you select the Client Group to display a particular list of clients on screen and then click Export, it exports the entire practice list. It would be good to export just the particular client list on screen. This would be in conjunction with having the Client Groups as another custom view option.

It would also be good to see which clients haven't been assigned to a group yet by having an 'unassigned' section. Otherwise you have no idea if your groupings are complete and reliable.

Clients are always paying with a bank account that is related to another entity or have a reference that is in relation to a different entity. I am unable to search by family group in Blue Xero, i have to go to XPM to search family group for any matching invoices then go back to Blue Xero to find and reconcile. Family Groups in Blue Xero would be a helpful function for reconciling client payments without having to switch over to XPM and doing additional searches.

Xero HQ - Client Groups Quick View
As we can customise what information we want to see on the first screen when on the Clients screen, it would be great if client groups is also one that we can have as visible column without needing to sort by client groups view. As another use has suggested, this will clearly highlight if there are any clients not yet assigned to a client group as well as which entity we may have missed out when adding to a client group.
