Ability to completely delete bank statement lines
It would be good to be able to completely delete bank statement lines, so that they are no longer visible as deleted transactions, where, for example they have been imported into the wrong bank account, or client account.
Hi Ruth, it's possible to permanently delete statement lines that have been imported into a bank account in Xero by deleting the entire statement - see in our help here
Or is there something else you're looking for here?

I agree with the last comment - surely it's not a difficult fix to be able to permanently delete and remove from view those incorrectly imported statements. My statement balance on the dashboard is also incorrect due the to deleted statement, and have been told by Xero that this should reflect that latest reconciled statement line, which is not true!

I see this has been going on for ages, one would have thought It would have been put in place by now with such a great program.

I definately agree there needs to be a function ASAP to do this - deleting pernamently a dleted bank line. It should be like Outlook, you can delete an bank transaction line and then once deleted you could then click on the check box again and for the deleted lines and have the option of deleting those pernamanty asking are you sure YES or NO.

I have deleted several bank statements that were imported incorrectly, and the statement lines are still visible which makes it difficult to see the correct statement. I need the facility to be able to hide these transactions/statements

Sometimes Xero does not work well when feeding bank statements. Some lines are duplicated, and there is a line that should be debited but become credited. This is really a trouble for reconciliation work.
It would be great if the statement line could be deleted completely without deleting the entire statement. By doing this, only the wrong statement line is deleted and replaced by the manual import of the correct transaction. The other ones that are correct can remain in the system. It saves much time for us to correct the wrong statement.

Yes this would be helpful.

Yes this is something that definitely needs to be an option. As I have many clients and sometimes importing bank statements can also cause an issue and it needs to be completely deleted.

This would be useful especially when I accidentally imported client data to the wrong account.
