Xero HQ to include full client data (UK)
Extend the information in Xero HQ to include full client data.
Information that would be good to see on each client information schedule would be;
a. VAT registration date, this is required for security with HRMC so needs to be in one place when contacting them.
b. VAT quarters (We do have clients that don’t use xero and this information is important)
c. PAYE registration details (Not all clients use Xero payroll and equally flicking between various clients bookkeeping systems when on the phone to HMRC is a bit irritating!)
d. UTR details for companies
e. Tax district for Both
f. CAC codes (I can’t believe you don’t have these in there and you’ve still got to just add them when filing. This is a VERY key bit of data)
g. Nationalities (it only has “place of birth” which given I personally hold three nationalities of which only one is reflective of my place of birth is a bit narrow. This is important for inheritance tax, and domicile/residency positions. As well as ensuring the correct personal allowance is given where clients are non-resident tax payers. So used quite regularly).
h. Registered office details (there is “other” that can be used but this is a bit shoe horned)
i. Incorporation and commencement dates for limited companies
j. CS01 deadlines
k. Primary contact Name on a limited company
l. Whether the accounts are dormant or not
Other information that would be helpful;
a. Date joined the practice
b. Date left the practice and why
c. Do they have child benefit
d. Do they have rental properties
e. Do they use rent a room relief
f. Do they have a student loan
g. Date moved to an address and date moved From an address with a database of old addresses is also very handy.
