  1. We're looking to add an indicator as to subscription ownership for the Xero HQ client list. This is just to say if the organisation is billed directly to the partner or if the partner is invited in and the client is responsible for the subscription.

    This will be crucial for the Spark and Helix rollout to help customers work through with their clients and get subscriptions updated. We also believe this could help with transitioning some organisations from being partner billed to direct billed which will increase revenue for Xero.

    Hi community, with a recent update to the client export you now get a column for Subscriber email address. With the export file you can then filter the Subscriber email address column to exclude the practice's email and determine which of your clients own their own subscription. 🙂

  2. Can you please update Advisor Published Reports to have the option to not print the date in the footer.

    Very annoying that Xero makes changes without providing an option (tick box) to not show dates in the footer of our final product to the client (Financial Statement templates) and are now forced to just live with this enhancement we did not want. Fine to be printed on other reports.

    Hey community - thanks to everyone that shared their feedback on this idea. 

    As you might have noticed, this was a change made in response to our other highly requested idea 'Reporting - Show date and time stamp report was run'

    However, the feedback from accountants and bookkeepers has been that this feature is not necessary for published reports. As such, we've gone ahead and turned off dates in the footer of published reports.

    You'll still have access to date stamps in all your other reports, but they'll now be removed when a report is published.

  3. We have an issue with our Xero clients where we ask them to reconcile their accounts and let us know once completed so we can process their BAS.

    The problem is that they never let us know so we have to go in to each client and see if they have reconciled up to the end of the prior period. This is very time consuming.

    Is there a way that on the My Xero screen, there can be a column with some kind of indicator when a month or period has been completed?

    This could be a quick visual guide…

    Hi everyone, as of today we've launched client insights for Partners which is available within Xero HQ and Xero Practice Manager. This screen gives you a view of all your clients and key indicators to help you analyse and compare how your clients are doing, in one place. As part of this you can see the number of unreconciled transactions a client has - their value and date, and judge whether the unreconciled transactions are likely to make a material difference to what you see on the insights dashboard.   4. You heartily pat yourself on the back for a job well done in the latest blog post re: product updates, while missing the point completely.

    Cool, you now hide empty notes in the financials automatically, but you DON'T recast the numbering of the notes, so I still have to go through and click '...' -> 'Hide' anyway.

    Looking at the Balance Sheet before doing this the numbering goes:
    - 2
    - 3
    - 5
    - 15

    Not very professional now, is it.

    Thanks for feeding back on this with us here, Paul. We appreciate that you'd like Xero to auto renumber notes on screen where they are automatically hidden in report templates. While there is a bit of complexity in being able to do this, our team have ensured Xero will automatically renumber notes on any published or exported documents, keeping your reports consistent and professional.

  5. Now that you've forcible inserted every single client as a line item in Xero HQ via Single Client Record, we NEED the ability to filter search results to only show client lines with Xero files attached.

    Example: searching for 'Lee' used to result in 3 client Xero files - now it results in 598.

    This is literally unusable.

    EDIT: There is a filter for TYPE of subscription; I do not and could not care less whether a client has a Ledger, GST Cashbook, Starter, Premium, whatever other tier you care to make up.

    I just NEED a tickbox to toggle…

    Quick turn around here! 🎉We've just released enhancements to our XHQ Client list filtering. We've expanded the filters to include;

    • Banks connected
    • Financial Year
    • Organisation connected

    As mentioned earlier the organisation filter will help with what you're after here by filtering by clients with or without an organisation attached. Thanks, and keep sharing with us through Product ideas🙂

    Absolutely loving the new 'hide' note function in the financial statement templates. This is a much appreciated update! Could we look into adding an option for certain notes to be hidden by default in the adviser report templates? The reason being, that our firm uses a standardised template that includes a number of accounting policy notes that may not be applicable for all entity types. Our current process was to delete the notes that were not relevant and there are a number of notes that are irrelevant more often than not. If we had the ability to hide…

  7. For a business needing to invoice based on a percentage share (eg horse racing syndicate), it would be useful to have an additional column to calculate the percentage of the full amount.
    A fix I have used is to apply a discount of 100- the share percentage but it would be more professional to have a percentage column.

    Hi Anne, as previously shared there is a discount column within new invoicing. If not shown automatically - click the show/hide columns button to check and select Discount.

    You can enter discounts as either an amount of percentage. If you'd like to enter a percentage discount simply add the % character in the field 🙂

  8. Good morning,

    I am preparing a set of financials in Xero Reports for a client. One thing I find that takes up time is when the financials have limited account items, and I still need to use the Notes to the Financial Statements.

    To save time it would be great if we could delete multiple empty notes at once instead of using the time-consuming process of pressing the three dots and deleting or hiding them individually.

    Thanks for your interactions with the team, Tim. I wanted to round back to confirm for everyone here that we've now added some automation to Report Templates, so now any 'empty' schedules will automatically be hidden when publishing or exporting the reports from Xero Blue. 😊

  10. When notes run over two pages - fix formatting so that if a note runs over two pages, it automatically creates a page break so that it appears together.

    I understand there are already page breaks, but it is diffcult to know as each client is different what notes are requried and and such you need to export to PDF many, many times, before the formatting is correct.

    Thanks for engaging and sharing details of where things could be more efficient for you when working with Xero, everyone. We believe a recent change we've released in reports should solve the pain in formatting for you, here. We've released a new in product PDF Preview, so when you're editing the layout of your reports you'll be able to update the preview and see any changes you've made to your report as it will appear when printed.

    While not completely automated, this means you no longer have to export to PDF time and time again. 😊

  11. stop flicking us back to the 'A' names once we have finished in a clients file.. go back to where it was as it takes time to scroll through all and keep clicking 'show more or load more'

    Hi all, 

    We've made changes to the client list - you can now sort the client list using all the columns. You can merge or add clients to groups from the list page, and choose how many clients you would like to view per page. 

    Pleased to say that this specific idea is now released 🎉 Whether you've reloaded the page or navigated to another page and returned, you can expect that the previous page, filter or search is preserved.

  12. The client export only downloads the clients Name, phone number, email and business structure. It would be very handy if we could export ALL the data which should be simple given the addtional columns already exist.
    It would also be helpful if you could also sort the other columns on the view screen rather than just the client names.

  13. FX rates to be added back to new reports like they used to be in the old reports. Otherwise how do we know what exchange rate is used for conversion at any given time?

    Hi everyone, along with earlier reports I mentioned, our team have now expanded disclosures for foreign currency to the following reports;

    • Receivable Invoice Detail/Summary (And all common formats)
    • Payable Invoice Detail/Summary (and all common formats)
    • Contact Transactions Summary
    • Supplier Bill Activity
    • Customer Invoice Activity
    • Bank Reconciliation Summary
    • Executive Summary

    With this release we'll shift this across to delivered. If there's another report you'd really like to see this on, do start a new idea and we can begin to get a sense of the interest for that as well. Thanks!

  14. Chart of Accounts
    Xero HQ import personalised chart of accounts, the current process does not allow the report name to be included. This requires editing of the chart once imported to the client. Would be helpful to have this field available to update the chart templates, saving staff time amending all charts.

  15. When creating a rule. Add an option to leave the description as it is. This is helpful if the client has added something onto the bank line and the rule would otherwise remove it.

    Hey Gregor, thank you for submitting this. If you want to retain the original description of your bank statement lines the best approach would be to leave the 'Description' box empty when creating a bank rule. This will prevent the bank rule from overwriting the original line with the text you've entered into the bank rule and keep it as it is 😊

  16. Accountants should have a singular login that stays with them and is not tied to the firm/email they initially sign up with. Wiping the slate clean when changing employers is degrading to the work done during that time.

    Accountant users should have the option to change the email, and the firm can add/remove them as staff as need be.

    Aspects:
    -When an employee leaves, Xero sends a notification to the user to change their email address. Employer removes access to client files.
    -When an employee changes their email, Xero notifies that access to client files will be lost unless reset…

    Hey Dot, you can set up your Xero account with an email you'll always have access to (i.e. a personal or business email that isn't tied to a practice)

    This way you won't lose track of your certifications or cases when moving between new practices. 

    You can also use these steps to Delete yourself from an organisation, to remove your own access when it's no longer required. 

  17. Xero HQ Filleted Accounts without Dividend Note

    There should be a facility whereby the notes to the full accounts can be edited for the filleted accounts so that not all are disclosed at Companies House, such as, & very importantly the 'Dividend' note

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this idea. As part of our recent improvements to the notes & disclosures for FRS 1021a accounts, the dividends note is now included within the Directors report which isn't submitted to Companies House. We appreciate there is further work to do to maximise the flexibility here and always appreciate your feedback so please continue to add new ideas.

  18. When you import a personalised chart of accounts you get stuck with the default numbers for the system accounts as it does not allow them to be included in the template. The result being the system accounts are dramatically out of order compared to our desired place for them in our personalised chart.

  19. Exported Client List - Include Partner Edition Subscriptions (e.g. Ledger) in export of client list to csv file. This helps us to review our current ledger subscriptions and ensure we are not unnecessarily subscribed.

    Hi team, we've made a recent update to the client export to now include the Subscriber Email. You can now use this export to filter by the practice email to get a view of the subscriptions the practice is paying for. 

  20. It would be useful to be able to run a profit and loss for any chosen number of months, showing each month in a separate column. Currently if you set up a profit and loss report to show 12 months, and subsequently want to view results for say 9 months, the report will still show 12 individual month columns, with 3 of these being outside of the report criteria.

    This is possible with the newer version of the Profit & Loss. By setting the report date range to a Month you can then set the variable # of comparison periods you'd like - Just change the compare with  when you like and Update 🙂
