  1. Can you please update Advisor Published Reports to have the option to not print the date in the footer.

Very annoying that Xero makes changes without providing an option (tick box) to not show dates in the footer of our final product to the client (Financial Statement templates) and are now forced to just live with this enhancement we did not want. Fine to be printed on other reports.

Hey community - thanks to everyone that shared their feedback on this idea.

As you might have noticed, this was a change made in response to our other highly requested idea 'Reporting - Show date and time stamp report was run'

However, the feedback from accountants and bookkeepers has been that this feature is not necessary for published reports. As such, we've gone ahead and turned off dates in the footer of published reports.

You'll still have access to date stamps in all your other reports, but they'll now be removed when a report is published.

  2. Add an additional dot point to the Individual Return tax calc disclaimer:
. This assessment does not include Division 293 tax that might apply to taxpayers where adjusted income exceeds the Division 293 threshold. Where applicable, Division 293 tax is charged at 15% of certain superannuation contributions.

Hey community, thanks for raising this as a Product Idea!

Earlier this year, we added in a warning for users affected by either Division 293 or excess super contribution tax.

This warning will appear on the print outs of estimates for returns from FY23 onwards.

You can read a little more about this on our Superannuation Contributions worksheet article over on Xero Central.

  3. Search job list by client, at the moment you have to scroll through the job list to find the job you are looking for, which when the job list is very large this is frustrating. It is easier to go to clients, search the client, then go to the jobs list. But this is not very time effective when you know what you are looking for or just want to check if there are jobs in there for a certain client.

Excited to share that along with my recent update on the ability to filter by client, you can now search by client from the Practice Manager All jobs table!

Typing a client name in the search field will now show you a list of jobs related to a client.😁

Thank you all for your support and sharing on how we could improve your experience when using Job Manager for your Practice.

  4. Currently when users take photos of receipts on the app they do not have the ability to add a note. This would be great so that the admin person coding the receipt can receive some additional detail regarding the purchase.

Hey community - just a quick note to let everyone know this is now live 🎉

Last week we rolled out an update to Hubdoc for all users, that allows you to add notes to uploaded documents!

You can read more about this update over on our "Xero product releases" page.

Hi Mike 👋, this is already possible within Xero Tax for UK users.

The wording of the accounts will automatically be adjusted when creating a set of accounts for a company limited by guarantee. These changes are driven by the Company Registration Number saved within the Organisation Settings in Xero.

For FRS 1021a you should see the statutory information note now references the company is limited by guarantee and for FRS 105 the balance sheet statements will be updated. If this isn't in line with what you're experiencing please raise a case with our support team.

  6. We've lost the ability to see if there are attachments on contacts - it used to be a quick way to see if a PDF W9 was on file. We also used to keep a 1099 file in Xero Files and would link those to the contacts, so we could quickly see if clients had been updated. That was especially helpful when names didn't correspond well (dba's and such). Now the files are hidden in the Files section of the Contacts but their aren't visible from the 1099 management.

  7. Ability to have one contact record link to multiple client records like a true CRM system would.

Example: bookkeeper for a client is stored as a contact and may act for many other clients. Currently relationships only exist between 'clients'.

Hi everyone, we're excited to let you know that you can now add a contact to more than one client🙂 -

See our instructions on how to reuse contacts in Xero Practice Manager, on Xero Central.

One point to note is that currently, we don't recommend editing or deleting an XPM contact shared between multiple clients using an external app.

This is our first step towards empowering you to have a more efficient contact list management and maintenance. We’ll continue to enhance the contacts functionality in XPM and later this year(2023) we plan to release an update to help tidy up your contacts in bulk.

  8. Can you please amend the MANAGEMENT REPORT to have the ability to CHANGE DATES for an individual report in the Report Pack.
Does it have to have the same date for every report page in the report pack? Almost every single month I need some accounts for the CURRENT MONTH, and others for the YEAR TO DATE, or for a DIFFERENT PERIOD, but every time i change ONE DATE, , EVERY SINGLE REPORT CHANGES. It';s just AWFUL.

    Hi community!

Thanks to everyone who shared their feedback on this idea, and took the time to connect with our design and product teams for interviews 😊

Based on this feedback, we’ve rolled out a change to the Management Report pack.

By default, the dates for individual reports will still align with the date range of the pack. However, you can now click ‘Manage dates’ to set the dates for individual reports in the pack.

See the attached GIF for an example, or get started with the feature yourself, by following the steps in our Management Reports article.

  9. Foreign tax paid on employment, self-employment and other income.

On the individual self assessment tax return, we need the ability to fill in the boxes on page "F6" of the Foreign pages marked "Foreign tax paid on employment, self-employment and other income"? In particular, we need to fill in columns:

    A Country or territory code
    C Foreign tax paid
E To claim Foreign Tax Credit Relief put 'X' in the box
    F Taxable amount

I'm happy to share that this idea has been delivered! Xero Tax now supports every box on the SA106 on our existing Foreign income schedule for the 2023 tax year onwards. You can now add foreign tax on employment income, self employment income and FHL EEA profits from within the Foreign income schedule.

Thanks for supporting this idea 😊

  10. It would be helpful to be able to sort and filter the Xero Tax dashboard so you can, for example, only view the outstanding tax returns.

Currently, the order that clients are displayed is random - By tax year and alphabetically would be better

Hey community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea, I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered! We have recently rolled out Tax Manager in the UK 🎉

    Tax Manager consolidates Company accounts, corporation tax, personal tax and VAT filings into one manageable dashboard which can be sorted by;

    • Client name
    • Client reference
    • Tax type
    • Status, and
    • Submission due dates

Using Tax Manager within HQ also offers several filters to drill down on work in progress and upcoming deadlines for each tax, the financial period, due date and their status.

For more information check out our blog here.

Thanks again for your feedback. We know this has been a highly anticipated  feature for community and we appreciate your contributions.

Hey community, just popping in to deliver this idea 🎉

Thanks to everyone that shared their feedback and suggestions in the comments. You’ll now have the option to 'hide' a note to financial statements, instead of removing it.

This means that rather than deleting notes that aren’t applicable, you can instead retain them for future years where they might be more relevant 📝

I’ve attached a screenshot to show this in action, and you can jump in to your Financial Statements from today to try it out!

  12. stop flicking us back to the 'A' names once we have finished in a clients file.. go back to where it was as it takes time to scroll through all and keep clicking 'show more or load more'

    Hi all,

We've made changes to the client list - you can now sort the client list using all the columns. You can merge or add clients to groups from the list page, and choose how many clients you would like to view per page.

Pleased to say that this specific idea is now released 🎉 Whether you've reloaded the page or navigated to another page and returned, you can expect that the previous page, filter or search is preserved.

  13. The client export only downloads the clients Name, phone number, email and business structure. It would be very handy if we could export ALL the data which should be simple given the addtional columns already exist.
It would also be helpful if you could also sort the other columns on the view screen rather than just the client names.

  14. We have a number of clients who have a preferred Name other than their legal name. Whilst we can only put in their legal name (for the preparation of their returns) it would help our staff and the rest of the team to be able to put in their 'PREFERRED NAME' so that it showed up in the main contact area in XPM so that they would know to call the client by their preferred name rather than their legal name. A lot of clients get upset if you dont call them by their preferred name.

Hi everyone, back with an update 🙂 As some may have seen on our Blog on 8th Nov we introduced a new field for individual and sole trader client types - Display name!
This is an open entry field, and enables you to enter your preferred client name that’s shown when searching for clients in XPM and HQ.
The Display name will become mandatory for individual client types with the First and Last Name fields becoming optional.

    From this date, for individual and sole trader client types;
Existing - When you edit an existing individual client type you’ll be able to change Display name to what you prefer without touching First and Last names.
New - When adding a new individual client type, you’ll have full control to enter the client Display name and First and Last name.

These changes are all steps toward providing a single source of truth…

  15. Xero org name - this would be handy at client level. We currently put this information into the Contacts (e.g. Contact: ABC Dogs Position: Xero org known as this), with the improved Contacts field its not an appropriate place to put this information anymore. We have put it here as we can search for it, when applying Xero subs this is the only way we can identify this client with XPM.

    Hey community,

This has now been delivered 🎉 as part of our move to a Single Client Record, you’ll now see a link to a client's Xero Organisation when viewing their profile in Xero Practice Manager.

Heads up! This field syncs with Xero HQ and can’t be edited in XPM. If you need update the Xero Organisation, make the changes in your Xero HQ Client record first and they'll appear in XPM 😊

  16. How do I attach a calculation (CGT) to a personal tax return? It's currently not possible to attach and save personal tax documents to Personal tax that will not be submitted to HMRC.

I’ve included a link to Xero Product Ideas where you can view and support current ideas or create a new one to share your thoughts.

Hi, thanks for raising this idea - I'll switch it across to delivered as this is something that can be achieved in Xero Tax.

To include include your own calculations for CGT in the Personal Tax return. You will first need to add the Capital Gains schedule and check the box to indicate that you are including your own calculations.

You can then head to the attachments page and upload your calculations.

The Generate a personal tax return support article has information on how schedules can be added to the personal tax return.

  17. Share capital note - in many accounts production packages there is a share capital note. It would be good to have this available in Xero Tax. If not, please could you add the functionality to add a custom note, which would enable us to add a narrative and a simple table.

Hey everyone, just popping in to shift this idea to delivered! We are pleased to confirm this has now been released in UK personal tax.

Please select 'New schedule' and then 'Trust and estates' in order to add this income.

  19. Current Hubdoc behaviour is that the user must choose a single default document type per vendor and all documents for that vendor are treated the same. So if a credit note is uploaded for a vendor that usually sends bills, then that credit note is loaded to Xero as a bill.
It would be good if Hubdoc could differentiate between different document types for the same vendor.

We've reached a milestone! - Hubdoc credit note detection is now available to all Hubdoc users globally who are connected to Xero or QBO!

As mentioned previously, when detected Hubdoc will flag the document for your review, from which you can Publish as a credit note.

Thank you all for your feedback and contributions to this idea 😁

    • Xero Blog - Hubdoc can now detect credit notes automatically
    • Ability to update the start and due dates directly in the new job manager (currently still need to go into each job directly and edit to change these dates)

    • Ability to search for specific clients with active jobs in the search bar (currently can only search the job number and job name).

So far our team is loving the new job manager on XPM - has made our workflow process much easier and efficient!

Thank you for your patience! We're excited to let you know that you can now use the search bar in the All Jobs tab to look for jobs by a multitude of criteria, including client name.

No matter how you structure your jobs, you can find the jobs relevant to the task at hand either using the client name, job description, job number or the job name - Now that you can do all this in the All Jobs tab, we've also removed the Search tab in Job Manager as it's no longer needed (All Jobs has feature parity with the Search tab).

Appreciate starting a new idea specifically for Job start and end dates and we'll be sure to update you all there, if there's any news for this. 🙂
