AU Payroll Employee Summary - Filter by Employee Groups
Went to filter my Payroll Employee Summary by employee Groups to show my Apprentices income for Payroll Tax Reporting and it's gone? Why? I've got to say it's getting really irritating that Xero features keep being removed overnight.
A suggestion - do not remove a feature and replace it until the new function does at a MINIMUM the same standard of functionality that was previously offered. Otherwise you're going to get alot of annoyed and fed up paying customers.
FYI - it's not hard for us as an accounting practice firm to migrate away from Xero if you continue to remove features at will. If you make our jobs harder we'll find other programs that make it easier and leave Xero behind. Xero used to be amazing, but lately it's losing it's shine purely due to decisions someone at head office is making that is causing our day to day Xero use to become harder and more cumbersome. Xero is not making accounting beautiful right now.

Following the release of the new Payroll Employee Summary report found under the Accounting > Reports menu, we have done a recent update to enable the ability to filter by Employee Group.

Just to echo everyone else here. This was a function I used every week for internal reporting. The workaround I now have to use is very time consuming.

Payroll tax returns for March are due TODAY!!!!!!!!! It is imperative you reinstate this feature ASAP. There should be consequences to Xero for the anxiety you are causing us who are just trying to keep our companies compliant.

Doing payroll tax last week took ten times as long as it normally does, especially for the client where I'm dealing with 80+ employees and deemed employees over 4 states/territories...

The new and improved Payroll Employee Summary report no longer has the function to filter by Employee Group. I use this feature to calculation the payroll tax payable each month so I can separate out the different states which we employee staff. Is there anyway this filter be included in the new report or can the old report be reinstated until this is resolved?

I use this report for Payroll Tax for our states all the time, and now it's just been removed with no warning and with no suitable replacement?! Not on Xero... something that used to take 5 minutes will now take hours.

Use this all the time for payroll tax reporting and in department coding entities - very important feature for wage costing. Please bring it back!

This is really important, as payroll tax requires this information, and monthly payroll tax returns are due by the 7th of the month following the month being reported on. Annual returns are due in July. Penalties are imposed for being even one day late (if the various state revenue offices have to do any work to tell you you've messed up, penalties can include fines of 25% of the amount owing).
We don't look at these reports until we need them, so finding out on the day you need to submit the report that you need to export the data and spend an hour manipulating it in Excel rather than just printing the report exactly as you could last month, that's a waste of time that you couldn't allocate ahead of time and may not have had.
