  1. It would be helpful to be able to change the default wording in the Xero sign email and even select from various templates.

    Currently the default email is very generic and lacks the tone our practice uses.

  2. We are in the process of checking all Client details in XPM to ensure they are all complete and up to date. One of the checks that we were doing was to ensure that we had the NZBN numbers of clients recorded. However this appears to be the only client field that you are unable to select when creating a custom report!
    Xero's response to my query was "you may like to add this in as a custom field and input in the NZBN in the custom field section for the clients which will then pull into the report" -…

  3. Search job list by client, at the moment you have to scroll through the job list to find the job you are looking for, which when the job list is very large this is frustrating. It is easier to go to clients, search the client, then go to the jobs list. But this is not very time effective when you know what you are looking for or just want to check if there are jobs in there for a certain client.

    Excited to share that along with my recent update on the ability to filter by client, you can now search by client from the Practice Manager All jobs table!

    Typing a client name in the search field will now show you a list of jobs related to a client.😁

    Thank you all for your support and sharing on how we could improve your experience when using Job Manager for your Practice.

  4. Ability to have one contact record link to multiple client records like a true CRM system would.

    Example: bookkeeper for a client is stored as a contact and may act for many other clients. Currently relationships only exist between 'clients'.

    Hi everyone, we're excited to let you know that you can now add a contact to more than one client🙂 -

    See our instructions on how to reuse contacts in Xero Practice Manager, on Xero Central. 

    One point to note is that currently, we don't recommend editing or deleting an XPM contact shared between multiple clients using an external app.

    This is our first step towards empowering you to have a more efficient contact list management and maintenance. We’ll continue to enhance the contacts functionality in XPM and later this year(2023) we plan to release an update to help tidy up your contacts in bulk. 

  5. We have a number of clients who have a preferred Name other than their legal name. Whilst we can only put in their legal name (for the preparation of their returns) it would help our staff and the rest of the team to be able to put in their 'PREFERRED NAME' so that it showed up in the main contact area in XPM so that they would know to call the client by their preferred name rather than their legal name. A lot of clients get upset if you dont call them by their preferred name.

    Hi everyone, back with an update 🙂 As some may have seen on our Blog on 8th Nov we introduced a new field for individual and sole trader client types - Display name!
    This is an open entry field, and enables you to enter your preferred client name that’s shown when searching for clients in XPM and HQ.
    The Display name will become mandatory for individual client types with the First and Last Name fields becoming optional.

    From this date, for individual and sole trader client types;
    Existing - When you edit an existing individual client type you’ll be able to change Display name to what you prefer without touching First and Last names.
    New - When adding a new individual client type, you’ll have full control to enter the client Display name and First and Last name.

    These changes are all steps toward providing a single source of truth…

  6. Xero org name - this would be handy at client level. We currently put this information into the Contacts (e.g. Contact: ABC Dogs Position: Xero org known as this), with the improved Contacts field its not an appropriate place to put this information anymore. We have put it here as we can search for it, when applying Xero subs this is the only way we can identify this client with XPM.

    Hey community,

    This has now been delivered 🎉 as part of our move to a Single Client Record, you’ll now see a link to a client's Xero Organisation when viewing their profile in Xero Practice Manager.

    Heads up! This field syncs with Xero HQ and can’t be edited in XPM. If you need update the Xero Organisation, make the changes in your Xero HQ Client record first and they'll appear in XPM 😊

    • Ability to update the start and due dates directly in the new job manager (currently still need to go into each job directly and edit to change these dates)

    • Ability to search for specific clients with active jobs in the search bar (currently can only search the job number and job name).

    So far our team is loving the new job manager on XPM - has made our workflow process much easier and efficient!

    Thank you for your patience! We're excited to let you know that you can now use the search bar in the All Jobs tab to look for jobs by a multitude of criteria, including client name.

    No matter how you structure your jobs, you can find the jobs relevant to the task at hand either using the client name, job description, job number or the job name - Now that you can do all this in the All Jobs tab, we've also removed the Search tab in Job Manager as it's no longer needed (All Jobs has feature parity with the Search tab).

    Appreciate starting a new idea specifically for Job start and end dates and we'll be sure to update you all there, if there's any news for this. 🙂

  7. It would be great if there could be a column added for Staff and or Manager. You can filter it by Staff by having it all in one place would be easier to workflow etc as you can customise it for month by month or whatever option, then and also Partners can then see whos working on what in one place

    Hey community, thanks for all your feedback around this idea - this is now live!

    Earlier this month we rolled out some changes to the Job Manager in XPM, and you'll now have the option to include three additional columns in the 'All Jobs' menu.

    In addition to 'Staff assigned' we've also included a column for 'Manager assigned' and 'Partner Assigned'. 

    You can see how that looks in the attached screenshot 👇🏻

  8. In Report Builder when building many types of reports (including Client & Contact and WIP Ledger), we would like to be able to filter for just one Client Group.
    However, the [Client]Group field is only available in the Fields section, but not the Criteria section of the report. This means we can run a report for all clients and sort by group, but we cannot run a report just for one group.
    This reporting is essential when managing an accounting practice - we need to see WIP Ledger entries pertaining to a particular client group, for billing and KPI purposes.

    Hi community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea. I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered! 

    You'll find that both WIP Ledger and Client & Contact type reports now include the [Client] Group(s) criteria. This allows you to specify the client group you wish to report on.

    For more information on which fields can be used in reports see Report Builder data fields'

  9. I would like to see the Job Manager in the Home page of the jobs workflow. At the moment you can only Filter by Manager, however I want to see the status of all of my jobs with the manager in a column out to the side.

    Sincerely sorry we haven't updated this idea again sooner! I can confirm you can now see who's managing work or assigned to a job at a glance. 

    The All Jobs tab in the Practice Manager Job Manager now includes staff, partner and manager columns and you can choose multiple people in each filter. Customise the view for only the columns you'd like to see 😊

  10. I look after several cafes who have repeat food/beverages invoices emailed to Xero (by owner who approves them). Can you set up Draft Invoice Bank rules. For Example MILK SUPPLIER AAA = COS Beverages GST Free BREAD BAKERY AAA = COS FOOD GST Free

    Untracked inventory could be used for this purpose, Xanthe - You'll be able to save description, price, account and tax rate for each item. 

    So for example you could set up an item for MILK SUPPLIER AAA with a preferred sales account and selecting the GST rate. 

    When this item is selected in an invoice these fields would be prefilled and your employee would just nee to adjust for Qty and any other detail as required.

    I’ve reached out to our education team to share your feedback and resource, and get a better understanding of how we choose the language in our quarterly product updates.

    To provide context - we’ve used the term ‘Hispanic’ here as that’s the term used by our Los Xeros group, which is made up of Hispanic and Latinx employees and Xero ambassadors. Based on this we'll continue to use the phrase Hispanic in addition to Latinx, where appropriate.

  13. It would be helpful to have a Director ID field for contacts within an entity in XPM. There are instances where we act for the entity and not the individual Director. We are therefore not able to store the Director ID in the same way for an individual client.

    Hi team, sorry we've taken a little to wind back here. As you may have found late last year we released a few enhancements to Job Manager so you can now filter your jobs by Staff, Manager, and Partner! 🙂

  15. Xero is great for our Business, the only thing missing is a DELIVERY NOTE!!!
    Can you please look into it, allowing us to create Delivery Notes once the job has been invoiced.

    Though this might not meet the exact criteria of every business, but it meets the core needs of customers that need a simple solution. If you're finding this doesn't work for you, check out our app store to see if there's any third parties that could help you out instead.
