  1. So, with the old Depreciation Schedule disappearing, the new Depreciation Schedule is our go-to report. However, there are some columns that I wish were selected by default that were present in the "old" report that contain the details we need. Because these are not the default, I am having to set these columns to be present in EVERY client that I manage (and then save as a Custom Report).

I would like to see these columns added by default:

    Asset Number
    Purchased (ie: Purchase Date)
    Method
    Rate
    Closing Accum Dep

Also, do we really need the "Private Use Amount" column…

  2. When completing the CT600, the maximum size document you can attach is 1MB. This is not ideal especially when doing a R&D claim

  3. M1 medicare levy reduction has an income test. IT8 for dependants does not. These 2 items are linked in Xero tax. Can you please unlink them.

  4. I really would like to see an easy way for asking clients to approve VAT returns, rather than downloading the returns and emailing clients.

  5. In Xero tax , There should be separate and separate tagging/ mapping for Net wages, Director's Loan accounts, Pension liability , PAYE liability etc. instead of common tagging/Mapping as "other creditors".
Because Reader/Practitioner may face difficulties to identify figurs in accounts reports. If Xero team provides tagging options more specific to Balance sheet items it will improve quality of Accounts report generated by Xero Tax.

  6. Currently when there is a password update on the Agents Government Gateway you need to go into each client to update to enable HMRC submissions. It would be great to change in one place and less time consuming.

  7. Is it possible to get the total of the VAT due/refund on the VAT report in Xero for a period. Currently one have to do a calculation to see the VAT due/refund. Or have to generate the VAT201 report to see the amount due.
Ideal one would like to see the VAT due outomatically calculated as well as die balance of the VAT control account on one report. See attachement for an example.

  8. Given Xero has an IR3 Rental Schedule form and Home Office Work Papers why does the business schedule workpaper only have line by line capability and not a business schedule equivalent to IR's IR3B business schedule? Why is this helpful, it means we have the ability to put in front of the client not only the income and expenses relating to their small enterprise (i.e. usually don't warrant an accounting product) and provides traceability for fixed assets and depreciation claimed.

  9. Remove CTR validation error for label 10A when entering 0 directly into the main label which is required when using temporary full expensing under the simplified depreciation rules. Instead you are required to create a nil schedule to remove this error and report correctly which is pointless.

  10. In personal tax there appears to be no provision to enter capital allowance for self employment in the form of a schedule which personal tax can keep year to year. This would help when writing down existing assets as well as adding and claiming for new assets differentiating the assets between main pool/special rate pool and assets with a personal use element to enter the percentage to apply.

Hi everyone, Xero is committed to supporting the tracking of capital allowances claimed on capital expenditure. We understand how this will save with partners and remove manual tracking of written down allowances. At the moment we don't have confirmed date when this will be picked up, but as soon as we do we will let you know here.

  11. I am frustrated that this has be added as "an idea" because it is clearly basic functionality. The structured buildings allowance doesn't roll forward each year and as such for the next 33 years I will need to re add the lines from 2023 and manually calculate the bought forwards. Not cool and in fact I will be looking for alternative software.

  12. It would be really good if when the accounts and corporation tax return have been sent out for digital signature to a client that there was a send receipt with a date and time stamp to show its been sent to the client with details of what email address it was sent to. When sending out lots of requests over various different clients it is easy to forget if you have sent the signature requests out.

  13. It would be wonderful if we could transfer interest, dividends, annual trust distribution information, and capital gains between a husband and wife (or partners etc) when the accounts are held 50/50 or 1/3 25% etc without having to re-enter the schedule into the other party's tax return.

Link the partners together like it does with a rental schedule.

  14. General Pool Depreciation - Using the General Pool feature does not list the assets that have been pooled. It is useful to be able to review assets owned by an entity and the details of the purchase.

Appreciate you'd like to add more detail for assets within a pool.

Atm, we don't have direct plans for developing this, however we'll continue to track interest here, so keep adding your support.

  15. Need seperate accountants report options for Ltd Company and Sole Trader
Currently only have this for Company accounts and if you edit it to be suitable for a Sole Trader, then it is not suitable for a Company.
Need to be able to choose between two options

  16. Exporting Canadian GIFI schedule should be enabled for the current tax year. Sometimes we need to export the current period to run a tax projection in the tax software.

  17. BAS & IAS Filters.
We would like to be able to setup filters to separate BAS's & IAS's that have the same due date.
There is the option in the filter, tax type, to select 'Business Activity Statement' or 'Instalment Activity Statement', however, all Activity Statements are listed as tax type AS. We would like to be able to change the tax type to either be BAS or IAS.

  19. US Tax - Create Schedule C Report with Full Cost (Total/Gross Cost Inclusive of Sales Tax) for tax return. Currently, it will pull the amounts without the sales tax (created when you match a transaction/enter an invoice using tax on purchases amounts) into the report, which is under-reporting the amount for the Schedule C tax deductions.

The current work-around is to pull the transaction reports for each account and use the Gross amount from those reports in Excel to link back to the Schedule C report.

  20. I run a small firm and for me it is not worth subscribing to your esign bundles. I need approximately 10 signatures a year and paying £60 for 10 signatures is not a justifiable expense to me. You should offer either a smaller bundle of 10 signatures or maybe a pay by signature option.
