Can you please add the ability to split depreciation between business & private use in the asset worksheet within the rental schedule in XPM.

New FRS102 and FRS105 changes (income recognition and leasing)
Development of new functionality to meet the new FRS 102/105 requirements following from the FRC Periodic Review. Key changes are around income recognition to be based on delivery (known as the 5-step model), and an on-balance sheet treatment for operating leases.
These requirements apply to accounting periods beginning on or after 1st January 2026,
For the income recognition, the functionality would ideally be embedded in invoicing (and potentially products and services), and this would lead to the correct bookkeeping including disaggregation and recognition of income on delivery, as well as contract debtors and creditors. This new requirement applies to all…

NZ Tax - IR10 Report Code Description
Within the report code descriptions, identifying which IR10 Key Point for NZ tax the report code will feed through to.
E.g.
Non-deductible entertainment will go to "Box/Key Point 24 - Other Expenses" and "Box 28 Tax Adjustments"This will give a little bit more visibility as to where each item will end up, particularly for the balance sheet.
If you can segregate this visibility to NZ only files as well, that would be beneficial for other countries not getting information not relevant for them.
6 votesHi David, thank you for the suggestion to add descriptions identifying the IR10 Key Point will feed through to. We will move this idea to submitted for other users to add their support and comments to.
In the meantime, the IR10 and AIM mapping from Xero to Practice Manager support article is a useful resource which contains information on how the fields are mapped.

NZ Tax - Adding Correspondence to Tax Return
It would be great and more efficient if we could add correspondence to the tax returns, rather than have to send separately via myIR.
21 votesHi everyone, while we appreciate hearing how we could make processes more efficient for our customers using Xero, this is not an idea we would be able to take action on.
Inland Revenue do not currently allow correspondence to be sent with a tax return via the Gateway services. This may be feedback that you could share with your IR Account Manager. Thanks

NZ Tax - Tax returns show amount at Tax Pooling
Currently NZ clients can make payments to a Tax Pooling provider (e.g. Tax Traders or TMNZ) and they will sit in the Tax Pooling Providers account until transferred to IRD.
In the clients mind they have 'paid this tax' already, but when the tax return is prepared in XPM there is no sign of any tax pooling payments, and it shows the full tax liability. It would be great if there was a way to type in how much has been paid to Tax Pooling, and record this on the front page of the tax return so there is a…
2 votesThank you for this excellent and detailed suggestion regarding NZ tax returns and tax pooling payments.
We can certainly see how clients would find it confusing when their prepared tax return in XPM doesn't reflect payments they have already made to a provider like TMNZ or Tax Traders. Your idea to add a note or a specific field on the return to record this amount would be a great way to provide clarity and manage client expectations.

AU Tax - Automatic filing of a suspended return
AUTOMATIC SUBMISSION OF A RETURN WITH THE "DEFERRAL" DATE ALLOCATED
It is a critical feature on a system we transition from to XERO tax, to be able to allocate to a finalized return a deferred date for the submission. On such and such date, all returns with that date and tag then come up, and with a touch of a single button all go to the ATO at the same time. The deferral function is critical where the client's return has a large tax bill, for example, and the client has other ways of utilizing the funds and keeping them…

Xero tax - Separate 'Client To Sign' & 'Tax Agent to Sign' lists
The current 'To Sign' list is a combination of tax returns that might be out for signature with the client, or ready for the tax agent to sign. At the moment there is no way for our tax agents to tell which tax returns are ready for them to sign.

Reporting - Output PLS Report in TrustEasy Format
PLS Report (EFT Reconciliation Report): Currently it merges first two fields of client name and surname and if that could be fixed with ability to export in .csv / excel please. It would be great if it PLS report could be exported in TrustEasy format to manage fee from refund (attached).

AU Tax - Allow CSV/XML Import into Returns from External Form Tools
Allow CSV/XML Import into Xero Tax Returns from External Form Tools
Please add the ability to import tax return data into Xero Tax from external tools like Content Snare using a structured CSV or XML—similar to ATO pre-fill.This would let us auto-fill returns from client forms, reduce manual entry, and speed up processing. A simple mapping template or import tool would make a big difference.
Thanks for considering!

Xero Sign - Change wording to "Click to review and sign" rather than "Click to sign"
One of my clients found it very confusing when trying to view & sign a document within Xero sign, as she said there was not an option to view the documents before signing...
She only saw the option to "Click to Sign" - I advised her she could click this option & would then be able to view the documents before signing, but she was very upset that this option was described as "Click to Sign" & suggested that it should be changed to "Click to Review & Sign" instead.
This would have then been self-explanatory in her mind &…

Xero Tax (AU) - Add "Draft" watermark to returns

UK Tax - Ability to Select or Create Custom Disclosure Titles in Accounts (eg, going concern)
Currently, Xero only provides a generic “Additional Disclosure” box when preparing accounts in Xero Tax. However, there are many cases where specific disclosures are required, such as:
Guarantees and Other Financial Commitments
Going Concern
It would be highly beneficial to have the ability to either:
Select from a list of standard disclosure titles, or
Create a new custom disclosure title, which is displayed in bold in the final report—making the disclosures clearer, more compliant, and professionally formatted.
Benefits:
Improves compliance with reporting requirements.Enhances the presentation and clarity of financial statements.
Saves time for preparers by avoiding repetitive workaround text…

AU Tax - Exclude Xero figures from worksheet when importing xero data
We 'import from xero' the data to preopolute the tax return. However, the P&L and Balance Sheet items appear in the tax return as a worksheet when printed. It would be great if this was excluded, but retained the other worksheets.

NZ Tax - Show the % RWT/DWT/ICA rate in tax statement worksheet/ Use of money interest
It would be good to see the tax rate deducted for RWT/DWT/ICA for interest and dividends when printed on the tax statements worksheet/schedules. Then you can see that the information has been entered correctly (ie 33% for tax on dividends)
Also be better to have use of money interest adding into the terminal tax date in the tax payment summary showing total payable, rather than a sentence above it!2 votes -
UK Tax - File historic tax returns through Xero
It would be useful to be able to file historic tax returns prior to the dates shown in Xero. I have a client who submitted his own accounts but has never submitted his own tax returns so we need to file 4 returns for him but we are only able to go back 2 years.
6 votesHi Natalia, just to make sure I'm sharing this back with the right team internally. Where abouts is your client based. Our Tax products for each region are developed separately for their own needs and regulations so this information will make sure I get it back to the right team to consider.

AU Tax - Ability to lodge FBT return for clubs & society structures
FBT Returns - I have been informed by Xero Support that FBT Returns can only be created for the following structure types:
Individual
Company
Trust
Partnership
Self Managed Superannuation FundNoting that individuals, partnerships and SMSF do not require FBT Returns it seems more prudent to make them available for the club and society structures who actually my have FBT to lodge.

AU Tax | Report Builder - More specific fields
