Hi team, thank you for engaging with us about this idea here.
Being upfront we don't have any plans for making the account code and tax rate mandatory on quotes at this time.
That said, we're exploring how payments may occur at earlier points in the sales cycle, such as from a quote. Our team will consider the idea here closely as part of this.
If there is any updates to share on this I'll come back to update you here.

I completely agree with all on this thread, Xero needs to have a pop up / notification etc before the quote is sent to client, stating account needs to be allocated either sales or no GST. Unfortunately I'm another unlucky one that has just lost out on $85 because, 1 I didn't check, silly me, and 2, I would have thought Xero would give this prompt before sending. This is such a big deal when sending out quotes, please look into this Xero, thank you

Thanks for your strong feedback on logging start and end times in NZ Payroll timesheets. We understand some of you are currently using workarounds or additional softwares to track start and end times.
I'm pleased to let you know we're moving this idea to In discovery, which means the product team is now reviewing the viability of this feature. This is an important step as we explore what it would take to bring this functionality to NZ Payroll and how it could best serve your needs.
We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

This is well overdue but glad to hear it's in the process. Will this also be implemented on the Xero Me app ??

Thanks for the update David
Out of curiousity how long would the process take to implement, I'm reluctant to choose another software if this will be ready sooner rather than later, days, weeks, months or longer ??
Cheers

Hi community, we want to provide an update and let you know we are reviewing these ideas and have a close eye on the support this idea continues to receive.
We understand that for some businesses, a quote’s title and summary are important details that should carry through to an invoice, and appreciate that automating this would improve consistency and reduce manual re-entry.
Right now, Title and Summary aren’t available fields on Xero invoices - Supporting this would first require those fields to be added to invoices, before they could flow through automatically from quotes. From there, the change also needs to be considered across a number of surfaces, such as web, mobile, imports, exports, emails, and more.
To be transparent, this work isn’t currently on our roadmap.
For now, we recommend manually copying these fields from a quote into the description field on a new line within the invoice.

i would really like xero to add this feature , it makes sense to be able to see if its viewed this will save chasing up the client. why have this feature for invoices but not on quotes, doesn't seem logical to me, come on xero other software's have this.

Come on Xero the first initial message on this issue was back in 2023 !!!
they are going to build a new Auckland harbour bridge before you fix this issue.
Take note people are loosing money because of this important update needed, not another dashboard change !!!
