Quotes - Title and Summary to flow through to Sales Invoices
Ability to make quote’s title and summary flow through to Sales Invoices.
Purpose: To save users’ time rather than having them manually input the same title and summary when the quotes are converted into invoices.

We utilize the quote system all the time and once accepted it would be helpful to have all the information converted to the invoice.

Every day I'm frustrated that invoices don't have title and summary fields like quotes do. It's not just that these fields don't automatically flow through when quotes are converted to invoices, but that invoices don't offer the fields at all! Including the data in an email doesn't work because that's lost when people just view the PDF invoices or the online link. It's also not saved with the invoice. Including the information as a fake line item is an embarrassing and ugly hack. Please do better, Xero!

I agree with the initiator of this idea request. To add to the original idea requestor, it is basic business professionalism to have the quotes and converted invoices be the same. However, would also like to have the title and summary feature on the invoices that are generated without a quote being generated as well.
Is this idea on the calendar for implementation? If yes, when?

This would assist clients in knowing the relevant project information for an invoice. Easier to read invoices generally lead to easier and quicker payments. Less back and fourth. Formatting would look so much better as right now we are entering this as a line item and it looks less professional.

Is this available? We seem to lose all details from the quotation so Customers are asking for a reminder of the Title and Details.

This feature needs to be implemented while the new invoicing is being rolled out and updated. I have multiple clients who use quotes to provide to property managers for multiple properties. Using the Title and summary feature in quoting makes it easier for the property managers to know what property it is for. When converted to the invoice, all of the information needs to be converted into the reference field, which is too small, particularly when sending statements out - all of the details cannot be seen.

9 years later this simple and critical feature remains unactioned - its surely less than an afternoons work to just make this feature work!!!

How is this not a thing already? Unbelievable.

We use the quotes system everyday and all the notes would be great if they were transferred to the invoice

This is very important to the way we issue Quotes and Invoices. All the Version control is detailed in our summary and is all lost once the invoice has been created. I have to cut and paste from the Summary to the bottom of the invoice each time. I would love to see this function available with an option to transfer the Summary if possible.
Thanks

100% need this rectifying ASAP
My clients keep complaining that they don’t know what my invoices relate toI need the quote information on my invoice or I’m gonna have to start looking for a different software..

Why offer it on the quote side and don't let it transfer to the invoice. We really need to be able to see it in both places

My client likes having the title and summary on their quotes. I have suggested to them to ignore it and add the summary information into a line item on the quote so that when they convert it to an invoice the information transfers. It would be much more professional looking and more user friendly to have the title and summary transfer over to the invoice with everything else.

Currently no point using Title and Summary - better to place as a line item in the descriptor at the Start on an invoice. - this would also solve another issue when you have - deliver address that do not match the company that is getting bill as this infomation could be placed in summary.

Automatically including the Title and Summary on quotes on invoices is essential! Please Xero it can’t be that hard for you to fix this.

Strongly recommend Title and Summary from quotation will be automatically shifted to invoice when we 'create invoice' from the quotation.

A very basic function, my clients need this as much as I do.

A summary of the job quoted doesn’t then move over to an invoice. I’ve accidentally sent invoices to customers without a description of work carried out as I’ve converted quote to invoice and not noticed the description does move with it. I have to manually input description again which is a pain. Needs to be resolved!!!

This is a basic function on all other accounting programmes, please can we have this added as a priority?
