Quotes - Title and Summary to flow through to Sales Invoices
Ability to make quote’s title and summary flow through to Sales Invoices.
Purpose: To save users’ time rather than having them manually input the same title and summary when the quotes are converted into invoices.

I saw that Xero added a new invoicing roadmap (https://central.xero.com/s/article/Xero-new-invoicing-releases) and am disappointed to see that invoice subject and title support isn't listed as a planned feature. Xero has already done the work for Quotes, so please add it to Invoices as well! I tried "Classic Invoicing" today and it doesn't seem to be supported there either, so I don't know why this requests suggests that we can just "manually input the same title and summary" to invoices. There's no field to paste them into!

I usually have to go through the process of manually copy and paste. Unfortunately, today I forgot to do it and was reprimanded by our customer, saying if I didn't include this, they would be taking their business elsewhere!
Come on Xero! you have been asked since 2015 to do this, yet you have produced a new invoice layout without including this. -

For me producing quotes and then having the same information on the invoice is essential. Having to re input the same information seems like double handling and defeats the purpose in doing a quote

This is where we input the delivery address as often different to the purchaser address (when dealing with designers and intermediaries). If we included the delivery address in 'contacts' it changes the delivery address for ALL quotations/invoices made out to that client, but the delivery address will be different each time....

I wish Xero (who created this feature request in 2015) would update the title and description. This won't just "save users' time rather than having them manually input the same title and summary". Titles and summaries aren't offered AT ALL in new invoicing. So there's no manual workaround. I tried creating a separate feature request for ADDING title and summary to invoices. That's the critical first step before they can add the flow-through-from-quotes feature, but Xero deleted it as a "duplicate" of this one.

Quotes include handy and prominent "Title" and "Summary" fields which we use on every single one to provide important individualized details to the customer that is not related to an individual line item. The details appear prominently at the top of the quote and I use the email template feature to put them in the email subject and body as well. But new invoicing has no similar functionality. I have to either shoehorn the info into one of the line items (where it doesn't belong) or in some cases I've even added accounting codes and such to the recipient's "address". I can put it in the email body, but sometimes I have to submit just a PDF. And the email text doesn't show in the online quote page either. It's also lost as soon as you hit "send" rather than being saved with the invoice.
Please add invoice title and summary fields, and make them flow through when converting quotes to invoices. Thanks!

Today I was again reminded about this glaring deficiency when a company asked me to send an invoice including some accounting codes for their A/P department on the invoice. This would be easy if invoices had a title and summary like quotes do. In fact it would be AUTOMATIC in that case since the quote I sent them already had this information in the summary. Instead I'll have to shoehorn the codes into one of the invoice line items or maybe as part of the company "address". Either way will look completely unprofessional. Also the title/text of this idea (which was submitted by Xero Team) makes it sound like invoice titles/summaries already exist and just require manual copying. Maybe the old invoicing system had them?

This is a critical requirement.

It is time Xero - please implement this feature.

Happy new year! We've been waiting on this since 2015, but I'm hoping this is the year that Xero implements this critical suggestion! The suggestion text says it's "to save users’ time rather than having them manually input the same title and summary", but it's much more than that. Invoices don't currently allow titles and summaries at all!

Chris Bayley, I totally agree! I have also commented about this quite some time ago but I don't think Xero either look at our comments or are willing to assist us our Businesses regarding this :-(

I find it absurd that the format changes from quote to invoice - most customers do not want to see a change in their documentation from quote to invoice - other than an acknowledgement that the document had changed and will now have Tax Invoice on it somewhere.
Cmon now!! Surely this couldnt be a more simple feature to turn on. We have gone to extensive efforts to customise our invoices and we this still doesnt pull through.

Having to manually add this on every invoice from a quote is inefficient. Can we get this sorted?

This is absolutely critical for many of my clients and seems remiss not to be included already.

why hasnt this been actioned already? this will save so much time on my invoicing. its frustrating that its not already a part of the invoicing

Having this feature is a no brainer, I have to copy and paste every time, which means I have to do multiple copy and pastes. Please xero just do it now.
It would also be good if there was an option to automatically include the first line of the title in the beginning of the email subject line in both quotes and invoices, eg- Painting at 300 Queen St Brisbane INV-3456

Absolutely! I put important information about the purchase in the quote title and summary, and then I use that (with the template feature) to populate the email subject and content when I send it. With the invoices I can manually put this information into the email, but then it's lost when people just view the online link or PDF. And it's not saved so I have to fill it out again when sending the invoice to someone else.
This suggestion was actually started by the Xero team almost 9 years ago and it's wildly popular. You already have to infrastructure there from quotes. And quotes already flow through other information to invoices. Please please please get this done!

The title and summary appears on the quote, but you can't select whether it appears on the invoice. Really? Come on Xero, this would be such a simple fix and users can decide if they want to use it or not. Please.

This is driving me mad. Please please please fix this. Thank you

This really needs to occur and would assist so many Businesses but I don't understand why nothing is happening!!
