Hi community, we want to provide an update and let you know we are reviewing these ideas and have a close eye on the support this idea continues to receive.
We understand that for some businesses, a quote’s title and summary are important details that should carry through to an invoice, and appreciate that automating this would improve consistency and reduce manual re-entry.
Right now, Title and Summary aren’t available fields on Xero invoices - Supporting this would first require those fields to be added to invoices, before they could flow through automatically from quotes. From there, the change also needs to be considered across a number of surfaces, such as web, mobile, imports, exports, emails, and more.
To be transparent, this work isn’t currently on our roadmap.
For now, we recommend manually copying these fields from a quote into the description field on a new line within the invoice.

Hi team, the Payable Invoice reports will generally help you zone into your top repeating suppliers and better view activity.
As suggested, if multiple contacts of a similar nature are being created merge may also help you manage these in your contacts list.
It'd be good to understand if there are other needs that this idea would help you with here - please do share any detail.

Stop auto creating contacts during reconciliation of transactions. I'm only 1 month into using Xero, I have 75 contacts in my list, but only 6 actual customers. When I go to create a quote, and go to select the contact, I have 75 nonsense contacts I need to sift through. I know I can begin typing my contact name and it should pop up but I can't always do that. Theres just no need whatsoever to save that mom and pop gas station I went to 1 time in the middle of nowhere to my contacts list. I can only imagine a year in I'll be close to a thousand contacts.

Under "ALL" in contacts, include a column which shows what group each contact is in. If I create a new contact name while reconciling transactions, the name just goes into ALL. I then have to go into ALL, try to remember which one/how many I recently added then move them into a group. Very easy to miss contacts that belong into specific groups and hard to figure out which ones I havent grouped yet.

Appreciate the feedback and interest through the idea here. Being open this isn't something we have plans for at this stage. Current focus is on new invoicing and improving the experience for our users as we edge closer to the retirement of classic invoicing.
We'll continue to keep our eyes on all sales flow ideas in the forums here and will let you know if there's any updates to share on this idea.

Why is so much attention put into invoices and not quotes? Being new to Xero, and trying to figure out how quotes and all of the settings work, I already have over 20 deleted quotes I have to look at in that list. Because there's also no preview function. So I have to download and save each quote no matter what I end up doing with it. It's just plain silly.

Hi everyone, we value your input and sharing with us on your needs here.
While not a direct preview button we have provided the ability to 'Get link' from the 3 dot menu in quotes - in the same manner as invoices this will provide you a unique link that you can use to share externally, or open in a new browser tab to preview the quote.
Though not a direct solve for what has been asked in this idea, this was another highly sought after request raised by community.
We believe this option will meet the needs of some on this idea too, but will also continue to track the interest for a Preview option for future consideration. 🙏

This feature NEEDS to be added! I work in the trade service industry and the main reason I went with Xero is because I can add a "scope of work" to my quotes by using title (scope) and summary (description of work). I don't do line item pricing, I NEED to describe to my customer exactly what I'm doing and every job is different. Customers sometimes want multiple quotes from me, so when I invoice out some and not others, they need to be able to quickly tell which one they're being invoiced to. Having a reference to QU- on there doesn't cut it. PLEASE integrate this feature!!!
**edit it add**
Sometimes I dont send an official quote, work is described and approved via text/email so all i do is send them an invoice. So ability to create and invoice, not from an existing quote, with the title and summary is equally necessary.
