Quotes - Permanently Delete Quotes
Ability to delete quotes permanently in Xero.
Purpose: To make the ‘All tab’ didn’t get mixed up with the unused quotes that were supposed to be deleted.
Appreciate the feedback and interest through the idea here. Being open this isn't something we have plans for at this stage. Current focus is on new invoicing and improving the experience for our users as we edge closer to the retirement of classic invoicing.
We'll continue to keep our eyes on all sales flow ideas in the forums here and will let you know if there's any updates to share on this idea.

Why is so much attention put into invoices and not quotes? Being new to Xero, and trying to figure out how quotes and all of the settings work, I already have over 20 deleted quotes I have to look at in that list. Because there's also no preview function. So I have to download and save each quote no matter what I end up doing with it. It's just plain silly.

go on, just do it.

a simple filter to filter out deleted quotes from quote view would make sense

this should be an incredibly system fix, for the money we are paying monthly you would think adding this would not take very long and keep a lot of your customers happy, seems xero has a lot to learn about customer service

I agree. We should be able to permanently delete "deleted' quotes. I have been testing Projects in the Demo Company. I have just set up my first for real project in my company file. I did a mock up quote - which had errors. I deleted the quote only to find in still stayed in quotes as deleted. I have created another test quote only to find out they stay in the system...this is very messy and confusing for other users. Please could allow for these to be permanently deleted or voided or even an option to hide deleted quotes.

I agree that we should be able to delete these 'deleted' quotes. I have just started trialling this and set up a few test quotes, without realising these would remain forever. It's really not great that we can't even archive these. I'm sure there must be a fairly simply fix so please look into this for us.

I want to delete a quote from my system
But selecting delete doesn't actually delete it
Why have a delete button if you cant delete it
Please fix this bug -

It’s incredibly frustrating to explain to clients that all their test data remains indefinitely in the system. The software is far from user-friendly. We need the ability to delete quotes that have already been removed but are still visible. If deletion isn’t feasible, at least archive them so they don’t appear in the "All" section. Please find a solution and address this issue promptly.

If you can not undo deleting, then why keep them. I can under stand is it get the the sent stage as this provide a record of sent quote. But when you are new to your program you sometime make mistake that you what to delete. I'm doing up training Video for my staff these quote will be here forever. Can the Disappear after 30days or better Give the Option to Permanently remove. The only use they would have is to make a copy of them but if they are wrong the you are just copying incorrect information.

Imagine hitting delete on a computer file and it just sits there forever saying Deleted.
Imagine deleting a typo in Microsoft word and it just strikes it out but doesn't delete them.
Imagine drawing lines in Paint, making a mistake, you delete it but it stays there forever.
You get the idea Xero, this is absolutely pathetic, sort yourselves out.

I cant believe that this has been requested 4 years ago and still nothing has been done. This is such an easy functionality to implement.

I agree with Joanna - VERY annoying having the trail of deleted quotes visible. We should be able to permanently remove these or at the very least archive them to remove them from being visible from the list. I also agree it creates confusion and are an "error" waiting to happen!!
There absolutely needs to be a way to purge, old, unwanted, deleted quotes.
It can't be rocket science to code up.
I am shocked this request is 5 years old - seriously - this is pure laziness on the part of your developers - i think its time to publicise all the problems and tell people to STOP signing up with XERO -

Please fix this asap! Very annoying having a whole lot of deleted quotes and it's also an error waiting to happen because you can still create an invoice from a deleted quote!

Clients find seeing the deleted and declined quotes in the 'all' list extremely annoying - options could include archiving these so they are not in the main 'all' view?

Totally agree here. There are so many small things that need FIXING. Instead of trying to change the invoice screen and removing basic functionality from that, maybe work on something people actually need?
New invoicing - more clunky file attachment process... instead of dragging and dropping on the webpage, now the "improved" functionality means you have to click a tiny arrow to expand the attachment window and then carefully drop the file in a tiny window... Great innovation! -

Reviewing the other user comments, sums it up for me. This request is 5 years old!
The more I use Xero, the more of these simple items appear that make it harder for the user to have a positive experience.
If Xero cannot make such a simple update, it is clear that "innovation" is not part of the company's culture.

Feels a bit silly that this can't be done.

We've had someone doing testing, and have used some innapropriate text in places that we do not want any record of this, plus we do not need to be taking up space with quote that don't mean anything. We'd like to be able to permanatly remove these, please.

I can’t believe this is not already done with the money we pay for subscriptions
