Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting the ability to assign files to the project itself. While this isn't something we have planned right now we'll keep tracking the interest through the idea here.

To highlight, though not currently available on the Project directly, it's possible to attach files to the individual transactions within a project e.g a Bill, Invoice, Spend money or Expense. i

Along with this, you may also find it useful to create folders within your Files library where you can collect all files related to a specific project for ease of reference.

Understand this isn't the ideal solution, but may help some for now 🙂

Their business model is to create a subscription based module, paid monthly, then produce no updates for that product.

Appreciate the feedback and interest through the idea here. Being open this isn't something we have plans for at this stage. Current focus is on new invoicing and improving the experience for our users as we edge closer to the retirement of classic invoicing.

We'll continue to keep our eyes on all sales flow ideas in the forums here and will let you know if there's any updates to share on this idea.

Totally agree here. There are so many small things that need FIXING. Instead of trying to change the invoice screen and removing basic functionality from that, maybe work on something people actually need?
New invoicing - more clunky file attachment process... instead of dragging and dropping on the webpage, now the "improved" functionality means you have to click a tiny arrow to expand the attachment window and then carefully drop the file in a tiny window... Great innovation!

Hi community, there was a brief window in which users were able to unintentionally code line items to CIS codes. However, there is more complexity in calculations for CIS and work that's needed to reflect this appropriately.

Thanks for starting an idea in this, we'll begin to track the appetite as a possibility for future work.

Hi Matt, it's a good idea to add a time stamp to your comment. Xero had an older forum for these ideas where they simply removed time stamps from all comments to hide that there was no progress for many years on many upvoted topics, especially those related to CIS and Projects.

Just a heads up, there has been NO updates on either CIS or Projects modules since 2020. It seems VERY unlikely they will ever implement this since it's only applicable to the UK, and only to a smaller percentage of UK users who are CIS registered. I strongly suspect we are a minority that receives no further updates.

I should also add to this that this feature was requested years ago and had a similar upvote number on the old Community.xero feature request forum.

I just realised that there are no old comments on this issue. I voted on this issue a LONG time ago, years ago even. There is still no movement on this topic.

May I suggest that you simply allow users to select the CIS Labour option WITHOUT calculating the CIS deductions? Just treat it like any other Account Code. Since it is NOT an invoice there is no need to calculate the CIS deductions at this point. If anyone says otherwise, they are wrong... they should be raising an invoice if they are seeking payment.

To add to this, there is simply no need to CALCULATE the CIS at this stage, leave that to the Invoice after it's raised, but PLEASE allow us to at least select CIS Labour for our regular Sub-Contractor repeating invoices.
I really don't want to be fined for simply forgetting to change from Labour to CIS Labour... This is a basic function thjat should simply NOT be excluded.

This is an old feature that I also voted up years ago. Still no movement on this topic then! Good to see the old one has been delted and replaced by the new 1 vote version!
It's interesting that EVERY SINGLE feature request I have previously voted on (with 1 exception) has been DELETED from the suggestions page. I guess it was too embarrassing for Xero to have so many old and negative comments!
