Hi everyone, we wanted to return and give you an update here. As mentioned in our last post - we want to be forth right that we don't have any plans to remove 'Powered by Xero' from emails sent from Xero, with intentional purpose and based on findings from interactions we can see having true benefit to customers in getting paid faster.

That said, we appreciate the feedback we've received and have made changes since this was initially raised to reduce the size of the footer where this is shown and have removed the hyperlink to xero.com. We will continue to develop the invoice email to continue to drive improvements for our customers and the ways you receive payments.

This Xero branding needs to be optional or removed. As I mentioned on the previous issue:

The official Xero response about "trust" is gas-lighting. The emails are already signed with DKIM as validation that they are from the Xero domain. And a spam email can just use the Xero logo for "trust". It's nonsense. I think it's a way for them advertise and get eyeballs on their brand. There is no upside for us, this confuses our brand identity. We're paying for this product, so you shouldn't be forcing us to advertise for free.

If you're going to stick with the "trust" and engagement reasoning, then make it optional (opt-in), and let us decide how to communicate with our own customers.

Support had me jump through hoops - Said I had to comment here and screenshot it for them, and I wouldn't receive email improvements for 3-6 months. Strange, but I did all that a few weeks back, and they confirmed that they would remove the "Powered by Xero" footer.

Guess what? They are still advertising in our invoice emails!

Support made me comment here and screenshot it so they would remove this advertising from our emails. They also told us we would not receive email improvements for the next 6 months. Very strange...

A "Powered by Xero" branding footer started appearing on our emails (orders, invoices, etc). This was added without notice and I do not want to be forced to advertise your product when I pay for it and you still haven't fixed universal searching of line item text.

I tried to follow the instructions that appeared in the support page. It said to edit the templates to remove all references of "Powered by Xero", however this isn't in the template. I'm assuming it's something that's being added by your system.

This should be a simple checkbox option that is opt-in. Please remove this and ensure it doesn't return.

Appreciate the interest in being able to search by description. While we're attentive to your feedback, I want to be open that we don't have any immediate plans for developing this atm.

We're staying close to feedback on how we can improve navigation for our customers when using Xero, and I'll let you know if there is any development planned surrounding this, here. Thanks

We try to include detailed item descriptions when creating bills from suppliers expecting this would make finding these items easy in future. We'll, I've just had to find a few things for an asset register and found that the global search ignores our descriptions!

This feels very unintuitive - in essentially all other web-apps we use, global search is a real global search.

For any others struggling with this, I did find a cumbersome workaround here: https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D51N00004JId6oSAD/how-do-i-search-by-transaction-description
