Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this idea.

We want to highlight some existing functionality that could help streamline this process: on the Cover page of a return, there's a toggle that allows you to switch between the Agent’s details and Client’s details.

Additionally, within the address section of the return, you can toggle to the client's address. Once you've successfully filed a tax return with the client's details selected - Xero remembers this preference. The next time you create a return for that specific client, their details will automatically be the default, saving you from having to manually change it again.

Though we'll continue to monitor popularity of this idea, we want to be upfront that we don't have any direct plans around the pre-fill behaviour at this time. We'll share if there's any change in status surrounding this idea.

Hi team, we’ve seen a lot of support for this idea, and acknowledge why you’d like a simple way of reflecting if part of a fixed asset is used privately.

As Xero doesn’t currently offer a built-in way to allocate depreciation between business and private use I wanted to re-highlight from our last update how this can be recorded -

Currently you could post manual journals to record the private use apportionment of a Fixed Assets depreciation.

If you're using Fixed Assets in NZ it's possible to set up an asset and apportion a % for private use. However, it's important to note that it's not possible to apportion the private use depreciation of an asset prior to using Xero. In this case when you sell the asset a manual journal may be needed to correctly state the private use.

At this time, we want to be upfront that our…

Hi everyone, right now the only way to edit a cover page in Xero is when you're publishing the report template.

Then you can change the Title, Date and Prepared by options. To further change the cover page, you can export the report template to a PDF file and customise it using a PDF editor. This would also be an option for editing the page numbers

We made some changes in Report styles for our new reports in 2021, though this is only for practice users - They now have the option to choose from four font sizes, and can add a text watermark to exported draft and published reports.

We don't have plans to develop this functionality further in Xero atm, but we'll keep you updated if our plans change.
