Hey everyone, we thank you for the detailed feedback on improving how leave requests work for part-time employees in Australian payroll.
We understand the value of shifting the task of adjusting hours to employees, freeing up payroll administrators’ time for other priorities and we also appreciate the points raised around accuracy and compliance.
While we don’t have current plans to deliver exactly what’s been suggested here, our product team is continuing to focus on developing working patterns within AU Payroll. Based on what we’ve seen in other regions, this'll likely address many of the needs discussed here.
We’ll move this idea to Not in pipeline for now, but we’ll keep you posted on any updates that could help achieve what’s being asked.

This is critical. I have spent a lot of time working through with my clients employees whom are part-time how to try and raise appropriate leave requests. It is currently very time consuming and non user friendly. If they had the ability to adjust the hours they wanted in their leave request it would solve the issue.

Currently Xero Central Help has advised there is no way to remove the 'Other Earnings Rates' category from the earnings selection in Xero Me.
This is an issue and one which one of my bigger clients is unhappy about as it means employees can select Other Earnings Rates outside of their Pay Template setup leading to payroll errors and overpayments. Given there are 30 odd employees on the payroll for this client it is too much to expect managers when approving timesheets to know each individuals Earnings Rates if an incorrect item may have been selected by an employee.
Would it not be better to have only each employee's Pay Template setup Earnings Rates available for them to select in Xero Me when submitting Timesheets?
