Hi everyone, we wanted to return and give you an update here. As mentioned in our last post - we want to be forth right that we don't have any plans to remove 'Powered by Xero' from emails sent from Xero, with intentional purpose and based on findings from interactions we can see having true benefit to customers in getting paid faster.

That said, we appreciate the feedback we've received and have made changes since this was initially raised to reduce the size of the footer where this is shown and have removed the hyperlink to xero.com. We will continue to develop the invoice email to continue to drive improvements for our customers and the ways you receive payments.

Could we have an opportunity to add our own logo instead of Xero's? It seems to me that that would be a better solution to increasing trust. The Xero logo could still be a OPTIONAL default for users who do not wish to add their own logo.

I agree with some of the other comments that it seems odd to have Xero branding in my email footers when I'm paying for Xero. For other services I've used, such as Mailchimp, one of the perks of paying for a subscription is removing the service provider logo from email footers.

Would you be able to share the research that you used to come to the conclusion that including the Xero logo would increase trust?

    Best,
    Matthew Dipple

Yes, I am in a location where we need to add tax for multiple jurisdictions (federal and provincial), and it all goes into the same tax account, which is very unhelpful! Our accountant when reviewing our books had trouble understanding why our tax filings weren't matching up with the tax account--it looked like we had severely under-paid our federal tax, until it became clear that Xero was adding our provincial tax to this account as well. This seems like a pretty basic functionality that could be improved.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest surrounding this idea, however we want to be open that we're unable to extend our log-out time past 60 minutes. Xero hold a lot of sensitive information including bank data and we're required to be as secure as online banking.
Any session information running on a web browser can potentially be stolen. If the session does not time out. You then have an infinitely long vulnerability window to session hijacking. Our best option is to keep a tight expiration window on the session cookie, and regenerate them frequently. Even setting a long timeout doesn't help with this - too long a timeout will greatly increase the risk of invasion or potentially jeopardise your personal data and the safety and integrity of the Xero application itself. This is why we maintain control of this.
If we detect there's been no activity on a page (e.g…

It would be great to be able to disable the timeout function on a trusted computer as well--I work on a computer in a secure location all day, and track time using the Xero timer. It is a pain to need to log in 10+ times per day just to track time! Please add my enthusiastic vote for this item.
