Hi team, now in 2025 and many here will have received our recent communication leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing on 27 Feb this year.
We’re continuing to work hard on delivering more features within new invoicing that’ll help most in your workflow.
Thanks for staying engaged with us on changes that’ll help you through the idea here.
To give an update on recent deliveries that positively impact some of you that have shared on the idea here. Late last year we released improvements to the issue and due date fields so you can now use all the date entry shortcuts that were available in classic, and we made it simpler to access the date picker. We also updated the Files attachment modal so you can now drag & drop files anywhere on the page, and when you use tracked inventory you can see the number of items…

Six month after reporting a serious bug in it you still havent fixed it!
That bug will catch many people out who copy from Purchase Order to Invoice and like me potentially cost them thousands of ££££s.An error occurred while saving the comment Mark Larrington commentedOMG! After several months of not using New Invoicing I have tried it again.
Well what can I say. It is just as dreadful as before. To many clicks, functionality doesn't work, layout awful.
Biggest issue is when copying from a Purchase Order to an Invoice it populates with the suppliers details and buy price NOT the sales price as per Classic Invoicing! I reported this as a bug to Xero support many months back and was told it was going to be fixed as priority! Well it hasn't along with the raft of other functionality issues.
Really what are you doing Xero except trying to loose your customers?

If they are listening rather than giving us the runaround just duplicate the functionality and make your salary payers happy. Feels like Xero is on a mission just to wind us up.
An error occurred while saving the comment Mark Larrington commentedIs everyone aware of the many other Discussions about how useless, cumbersome and awkward New Invoicing is?
Go vote and comment on those too.An error occurred while saving the comment Mark Larrington commentedWell Xero you are certainly living up to your UK TV advert and running a marathon in quicksand! I for one feel totally insulted by ignoring of the simple message that users are telling you to simply IMPLEMENT ALL THE CLASSIC INVOICING FEATURES to keep you client base happy.

An error occurred while saving the comment Mark Larrington commentedIts an utterly useless feature for us.
IMO, Xero are not wanting to deal with larger office based businesses going forwards but focus on small peripatetic businesses like gardeners, plumbers and electricians that wander from job to job and house to house and rely on flakey 4G service on the mobile app. They create an invoice on the fly at a customers house so Autosave on the mobile app means they dont forget to save it.
Anyway please scrap it.

How about you FIX the BUGS before telling us what's coming?
I reported a serious bug to Xero Support in January 24 - ITS STILL NOT FIXED!!!!
Bug - When copying a Purchase Order to a NEW INVOICE it copies the items Purchase price rather than the Sales Price of the item. (Old invoicing works correctly)
The first time I encountered this bug, a customer had to call and tell me I had invoiced them several thousands of ££££ to little!!!
So now I have many more clicks and Invoice anxiety ensuring Im using the correct sales price rather than trusting Xero to put the correct info in.
Come on Xero... FIX THE BUGS!
