Hi community, thank you for all the engagement and we can see the growing interest in improvements to help simplify your view of information on the new Homepage and navigate important information and insights with more ease.
Right now, our team have a few pieces of work underway intended to help with some of the pain points that have been raised here these include:
- More options for the sizing of widgets so you can reduce these frames and better position this information on your screen
- More customisation of information within a widget like being able to remove visuals
- Improving the experience of moving widgets when editing the homepage to make it more obvious when dragging and dropping them to different positions on the page
We’ve also roadmapped further changes for later this year, once everyone is on the new experience. I’ll share more updates as we progress.

Hi team, while the status of this idea remains unchanged from our last post we did want to provide an update in the channel here.
As shared previously there's the possibility of exploring third-party apps like Google's High Contrast, which allows you to change the colour on your screen so it's easier to read.
Our Xero Accounting app is a bit of a different kettle of fish and for iOS users there is a dark mode available from the 'Appearance' option that you can navigate to from the 3 dot menu in the top right of the app screen.
Though we fully understand and appreciate needs for wanting dark mode, the ability to develop this requires resource from across all areas of product to implement in the web version. Providing dark mode is not on our current roadmap.
If there are any further changes to share we will provide further…

I am amazed that this is not available. This would help the elderly and people with eyesight disabilities/ I am one of them.
The new Xero homepage is cluttered, slow, and a masterclass in how to make good software worse.
What was once a practical, efficient dashboard now feels like it was designed by someone who does not actually run a business. It is visually noisy, harder to scan, and actively wastes time.
This change is being forced on paying customers with no genuine option to keep the layout that actually worked. That is not progress. That is removing functionality and calling it “design”.
We pay for this software to run our businesses efficiently, not to beta test a redesign that prioritises appearance over usability.
