Hi community, thanks for continuing to share how time-consuming it can be to repeat the same details across multiple lines in an invoice, quote or bill.
We’re working on an improvement to the line item grid of these transactions that'll improve the process for you all here.
We're developing the ability to drag the contents of a field in one row up or down a column to apply it across other line items. There will also be keyboard options for those that prefer not to use a mouse.
Once available, this’ll make it much easier to repeat details like tracking, account codes and tax rates across line items without re-entering the same value over and over.
I'll be back to share once this is rolled out, with more detail on how to make use!

Hi team, we appreciate the on-going support and feedback we're receiving on this idea and pleased to be able to share this update. Our product team are actively exploring how we can best solve for the needs raised here, although at this time are unable to provide any set timeframes.
They are very much aware of the appetite from our community on this, and as part of their exploration have reached out some users here as they gather insights.
For the time being we'll shift to In discovery and I'll return as soon as there is more on this to share.

Hi everyone, thanks again for continuing to share your feedback and examples on this idea.
We’ve now done some initial discovery on this and can see the value it could provide for businesses needing assembly or bundled inventory capability in Xero.
This is something we’re interested in solving longer term, however there is a bit of complexity involved in the work and it hasn’t been roadmapped at this stage.
When we are able to get this planned in the pipeline, we’ll be sure to update you here and keep you informed on progress.

We manufacture products. Inventory management is really annoying without this feature. If it isn't resolved soon we are moving to software that can.

It's funny you say for spam control, as my invoices sent from Xero's email service are increasingly ending up in my customer's spam. The solution I received from Xero is to have my customers add the address to their safe-contacts list but getting new customers every day this solution is ridiculous.
