Sales, sales, sales—every company should have on hand how much it has sold, in the month, quarter or the year. It would be very good to have that graph or information on the homepage.

Thanks for raising this with us! I’m happy to say you can already do this 🙂 using billable expenses for recharge or on-charge workflows.

When entering a bill, you can use Assign expenses to a customer or project and select the customer for the relevant line items. Those costs are then recorded as billable expenses that you can recover from that customer later.

When you then create an invoice for that same customer, Xero gives you the option to add those billable expenses to the invoice. You can add them either as one line item total or as separate line items before approving the invoice.

So for examples like recharging a parking fine or other customer costs, billable expenses may already support the workflow you’re looking for. The main difference is that this doesn’t copy the full bill directly into a draft invoice. Instead, it lets you assign the relevant…

Hi everyone, appreciate the continued interest and support this idea receives.

I know it's been sometime since our last update, and I understand frustration in recent comments wanting more news on where this is at.

I want to confirm our product teams still have good intentions to develop the ability to copy to a purchase order from within an invoice, however with the current option of being able to copy to from the invoice list and prioritisation of other pieces of work this isn't roadmapped just yet.

I totally get the needs here and hearing how you found this feature so useful. As soon as there's further news we'll make sure to share this with you all, here. Thanks

It's simple, we are business owners and we have to make quick decisions and actions.
Therefore we need to have at a glance how much we have in sales to date.
A quick view of how much we have sold, that information is not at hand.
