Our business will receive the bill first and then we will invoice a customer for part of or all of the bill and this may not happen at the same time as receiving the bill. Being able to copy a bill to an invoice would save us a lot of data entry and time. Currently every bill we create as a purchase order and then copy to a bill and / or copy to an invoice. New invoicing has made this process more painful where when copying to an invoice the billers name copies across. This means when a lot of bills are being entered at any given time sometimes the user forgets to delete the biller name and enter the invoice to name.

you can still copy to a new invoice, quote, purchase order or bill from the invoices list view.

Seem strange that you can select the invoice in the Draft or Awaiting Approval/Payment list and then copy it to a Bill, but not once paid or more logical, when you have opened the invoice as an option in the drop down list where you can copy it to a new invoice (but not a bill). It does not seem like such a difficult feature to add. Might not be relevant to all users, but to some users it would be such an easy and time saving feature???

This would be super helpful. I use the Invoice to Bill option daily, but sometimes forget and enter items as a bill first (then need to enter it all over again as an invoice). It would save time and make sense to be able to copy bill to invoice.

I really really need the ability to copy invoice to PO - this is available in the old system and MUST be included in the new invoicing system. Once payment is received against an invoice, I like to use the invoice to cerate a PO on my supplier - I only have to change the "customer" field to by supplier AND I have a good way to track from quote to invoice to po to bill.

@Leanne Aldridge Because our business model involves receiving bills from suppliers first and then invoicing our clients (not the other way around), it becomes cumbersome to remember the order or duplicate efforts by copying and pasting. It seems logical to have a simple feature in Xero that allows copying a bill to an invoice, just as it is possible to copy an invoice to a bill. Perhaps it would be beneficial to inquire with Xero about the lack of this functionality and explore the possibility of its implementation then ask me.

@Anastasiia Dorodnaia, why don't you do the invoice to the customer first, then create the bill from the supplier? In the current Xero invoicing, there is the functionality to do that, so just do it the other way around. Invoice first, copy to bill second.

This is absolutely a critical feature for me, why has the "copy to bill" feature been removed. I do 300+ invoices per month, and 250 of them have the need to invoice a customer and then copy to bill from the supplier. Why on earth would you get rid of this, it is absolutely crazy! If it cannot be added, I will have to move to a program that will incorporate this. Please add back in!

In old version of invoicing you could copy the invoice to a bill when you had saved the invoice -now you need to go out of that invoice and check a check box before you can copy it to a bill. Can you add the "copy to bill" withing the invoice screen ? on new invoicing

This would also be a useful feature for us too; we have a property company and we have to invoice certain bills for disbursements on to the tenant at cost so to be able to copy a long and detailed bill straight to an invoice would be brilliant for us, a real time saver.

The billable expenses do not solve the problem! It is frustrated why we can copy invoice to bill but can't copy bill to invoice. What is rational behind such limited functionality? It is common when we reinvoice the customer for the bill paid. It would save us (users) time to do it straight away and not to looking way around or manually retype/copy-passed information.
