    Hi team, appreciate the feedback here and it appears there are 2 differing ideas being bought up here. This idea was originally started relating to the invoice branding theme. Being open, while we will look at improvements to invoice templates down the line this isn't planned just yet.

    More recent conversation appears to be related to the new invoicing send modal and formatting of emails sent from Xero. We have a slightly different idea those who are interested in this can join and you'll see I recently updated - While the tool bar has been removed from the send window, you can still use html tags to format and preview how these look in your email.

    Hi everyone, we’ve taken time to review the suggestion to include custom fields for both invoices and contacts, and recognise the value it'd bring in helping users capture more detailed information and avoid manual processes.

    However, with other focuses drawing the teams attention such as multiple addresses this idea is not on our current development roadmap.

    As we continue to plan future roadmaps, being highly supported this idea will continue to be considered, however we want to be open about it's current position with you all here. We appreciate you sharing your feedback and for your ongoing participation in the Xero community. Any changes to this status will be shared with everyone on this idea.

    This is ridiculous that custom fields are not a thing for all entities (Contacts, Invoices etc) in Xero. They would need to be defined in the settings area and then as they aren't just created ad-hoc per invoice, contact (or whatever entity they're associated with), they could be searchable and reportable.

    For example, one reason for these is it would be great to have a custom field on an invoice for us to be able to add our back-costing margin figure from our job management software to enable us to do more reporting directly from Xero.

    This then allows us to make Xero our central hub for ALL our financial data, management accounting included, not just taxation-based accounting.

    How long is it going to take you to get this added? These are available in other accounting packages.
