Hi everyone, we appreciate your patience & would like to thank everyone who’s shared their thoughts and supported this idea.
Xero's payroll reports do currently offer some options to adjust columns, filters & layout. However we hear & understand the need for having additional information & more flexibility with payroll reporting, including the ability to customise & save reports for future use.
Being open here, these improvements are not in our current pipeline. However we'll use this feedback to shape how we plan future improvements in Xero Payroll reports.

Hi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. This isn't something we have plans for in the near term.
Not getting a lot of support from other members we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas. If it’s still highly valuable to you, welcome to start it again and see if it gets renewed interest.

Hello everyone, while you can currently export reports to compare pay runs, we understand the value of having this capability built directly into Xero and have been following this idea closely.
For now, AU and UK organisations can use the Payroll Activity Details report for one employee at a time by selecting the relevant date range for the pay periods. To help prevent errors, we recommend checking that employee pay templates are set up correctly, ensuring future pay runs are consistent and accurate.
Although this isn’t on our roadmap at present, we recognise the impact it'd have for customers and will continue to consider it as we plan future payroll enhancements. We’ll share any updates related to payroll comparatives here.

Gross to Net Report (and payroll reporting more generally) to have the Tracking Category defined in the payroll setup.
We use Department. Could the tracking category be added in the same way this functionality exists in wider Xero reporting.
It is quite painful not to be able to summarise the payroll by the selected tracking category (department for us) and also to group together this way. The bigger the company gets, the less helpful the current functionality is
