Hi team, pleased to share that this is a feature that will be coming with the new Xero Homepage! Once released it will be an option available from the bill drop down within the Bills to pay widget 😊. I'll round back to share as it becomes available in orgs.
If you'd like to get more understanding of the new homepage and navigation visit our website and try out the prototype!

Hi everyone, we’ve taken time to review the suggestion to include custom fields for both invoices and contacts, and recognise the value it'd bring in helping users capture more detailed information and avoid manual processes.
However, with other focuses drawing the teams attention such as multiple addresses this idea is not on our current development roadmap.
As we continue to plan future roadmaps, being highly supported this idea will continue to be considered, however we want to be open about it's current position with you all here. We appreciate you sharing your feedback and for your ongoing participation in the Xero community. Any changes to this status will be shared with everyone on this idea.

dear XERO admin teams - I'd strongly urge you to reconsider your customers not being allowed to add their own field. I have many clients, mainly in the medical fields that would STRONGLY benefit.
I will provide a scenario:
- a medical practitioner that see's a patient regularly, but them only invoices once a monthIn this example, a custom field of "service date" would be extremely beneficial!!
although the ability to manually add the date as an additional line in the Description field, when doing this for only one or two patients, that's suitable... however, when you're attempting to use the "upload template" feature and upload in bulk - it doesn't work because you can't simply add the "item" number and have the Description field auto populate... you need to go back into each invoice manually once uploaded and then write the additional line into item line OR you need to re-write each item description on the template before uploading. it's a MASSIVE waste of time, whereas, by adding a simple "date of" field would eliminate all the extra and unnecessary work load.Simply put - when filling in the template to upload - you would only need the service date an item number and the generic description would suffice and SAVE HOURS!

Hi community, as many will have seen in our updates about new invoicing we’ve been releasing many improvements to the new experience including keyboard shortcuts that will also interest many in the idea here.
At the end of 2024, we made an update so all date entry shortcuts will now also work within new invoicing. Along with this and listening closely to our customers feedback, we’ve most recently delivered some new keyboard shortcuts specifically for new invoicing. These shortcuts help users quickly perform common actions while invoicing to save the need of using your mouse and clicking around. Shortcuts include things like; different options when Approving or updating your invoice, being able to Preview, or Print your invoice, through to sending your invoice to a customer. You can view the full list of shortcuts that can be used in Windows and Mac, as well as all other shortcuts available across…

they really really need some shortcuts added... having you click and scroll anytime you need to add a few new products (not enough to upload a whole spreadsheet), it will be AMAZING just to have a ctrl+ command.
PLEASE CONSIDER. No shortcuts is XERO's only downfall.

I completely agree - I just submitted a similar request (I requested a shortcut widget/icon - directly in the top taskbar, but I used this very example.) When it's on the dashboard, you still need to navigate back to the main dashboard, from wherever you are first, to then click on a widget from there... I would love to just press a button/icon on the top of any page to action my next task... it would be a game changer
