Thanks for sharing this idea. We want to be transparent that adding superannuation payments into the payroll .aba export isn’t in our product team's pipeline.
This is because super payments need extra information that an .aba file can’t carry, such as a member number, USI, TFN etc.
.aba files are designed for standard electronic bank payments, so they can't upload this complex data in the file format required for super contributions.
For more detail on the changes coming with Payday Super from 1 July 2026, I’d recommend our Xero Central article. We’re also rolling out improvements to Auto Super and streamlining the payment workflow in Xero, so paying super after each pay run will be faster, easier and remain SuperStream compliant.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your thoughts on having a payroll report that calculates payroll state tax. We understand some of you are required to calculate tax across multiple states.
While we don't currently have a report which calculates earnings based on state, some of you have mentioned workarounds such as using the Payroll Activity Summary report. This report includes earnings totals and can be filtered by a date range and employee groups.
We recognise the value a report of this nature could have for our customers and it’s been added to the wider pool of ideas for our product team to consider for future development.
While it’s not on our immediate roadmap, we’ll be sure to keep you looped in if there’s any progress.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on automating leave provisions. Currently Xero does not automatically include leave liabilities on the Balance Sheet. Some of you have mentioned workarounds such as reviewing the Leave Balances Report and creating Manual Journals to include the liability in your reporting.
While we’re dedicated to streamlining payroll calculations, our product team confirmed this specific idea isn't on our foreseeable roadmap. We’ll be updating the status to Not in pipeline. The idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to monitor community interest.

Hi everyone, a quick update on multi-authorisation for Payday Super.
We recognise that multi-authorisation is a priority for many of you, particularly as Payday Super approaches and businesses review how they manage super payments in Xero.
Our Product team is actively working on an enhanced workflow for this, which is on track for release next quarter.
We’ll share more updates as soon as we have more to confirm.
