Hi team, I’m back again as the ability to accept deposits with Stripe has been released to the majority of regions (UK, US, NZ, AU SG, and CA) with sights set to get this to 100% asap.
Additionally to the feature we first rolled out, we've now added a due date field that allows you to set a specific date you expect payment of the deposit to be received and will be visible when sent to your customer.
Thanks again for your involvement in the idea here and helping us evolve Xero to better suit the needs of our customers.

This inability is the number one issue I have with Xero. Why can't my clients make a 50% deposit upon invoice receipt to confirm they want my business (passenger transportation) service with full payment set to be due a set number of days before service?

I definitely need to be alerted when an invoice has been paid. A notification on the Xero dashboard or an email would be fine.

Yes - it is sure surprising to read the CEO directly requesting feedback on what is needed....from Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, CEO, Xero
So as we head into 2026, I want to make you a promise: we'll keep listening. Tell us what's working. Tell us what isn't. Tell us what you need next. That conversation between us — that's how we get better together.
What I really need (and I'm sure many others) is a way for our clients to abide by our terms and place a deposit on against an invoice. Via CC, not via EFT/Wire transfer/etransfer. Please please update if this is going to ever happen!
Thank you - Tod
