Invoice payments - Email notification when payment received
When a payment is made into the business account an email notifcation is sent automatically.

or just somehow change the status on an invoice to payment pending. Had a customer pay on Thursday, processed by stripe on Friday, and they were quite annoyed I sent a reminder on Tuesday. Payment not due to hit Xero till Thursday!!!! a full week. (memorial day holiday) This is not good enough. At least an email would be good.

Hi, we use stripe for card payments and we receive an e-mail direct from Stripe confirming the invoice that has been paid. If you go to communication preferences and transactions and balances within Stripe itself there are options for receiving e-mails one of which is for successful payments.

We require payment of cash sales before goods are sent to customer's, we need to know when payments have been made in real time in order to get the goods to our customers in a timely manner.
I reconcile payments to the bank account everyday so I can see when invoices are paid via internet banking. When it comes to invoices paid via stripe however, there is no reconciliation until the money comes into the bank account, so I don't know that these invoices have been paid until well afterwards.This means customers are not receiving their goods when they should be.
An email sent advising that the invoice has been paid via stripe would mean payments will be picked up as soon as they are paid and customers will receive their goods when they should.

I found a work around using Pabbly which is like Zapier. I created a flow when I get a new payment made on Xero, it sends me an email to show payment was made.

We have an app that can help with this! Envy Analytics, which includes our Alerts feature, sends you an email whenever there are items in the Awaiting Approval status in Xero, helping you approve or decline transactions more quickly. You can add multiple recipients, change the frequency of alerts (hourly, daily, weekly) and set up repeat alerts to ensure nothing is missed.
The emails you receive contain hyperlinks to each document (invoice/bill/credit note) that needs actioning so that you can quickly access the document you need to deal with.

Wow. I completely assumed a payment notification was standard with Xero payment processing. I went searching for how to turn it on and came across this thread. Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me as I require the ability to receive an email when payments are received (as I do now with Stripe). I guess the trial period is good for this type of research.

When an an invoice is sent it would be nice to have a return receipt that invoice has been read.

It would be extremely helpful. I used Quickbooks which offers email notification every time payment is made. email included invoice number amount and invoice contact. Very handy if you need to apply the payment to another system, and this happens in my case.

I definitely need to be alerted when an invoice has been paid. A notification on the Xero dashboard or an email would be fine.

This would save a mountain of time as we have to check each individual invoice to make sure it has been paid before we can deliver the service.

I agree with all previous comments. It would be very helpful for my client to receive a notification when an invoice sent from Xero is paid.

Important when the business needs to take some further action on receipt of payment.
Critical when there are integrated services, such as Stripe, that auto-reconcile the whole process so the business is unaware that payment has been made!

Yes, absolutely. I could have sworn the system used to tell me that someone had paid an invoice but recently I've had two instances where clients have paid and I didn't realise and consequently there's been a delay in them receiving the service. This doesn't create a good impression at all.
