Any update on this? Would really like to stop wasting so much time marking each expense individually.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Nicole. We’re continuing to think carefully about consistency across the actions and layout of our features as the product evolves, especially as more shared components (like the table used across invoices, purchase orders, bills, and quotes) are introduced into the new experiences.

That said, each feature also has its own distinct needs. While the new experiences across these pages will feel similar, there will be differences designed specifically to support the users and workflows for each one.

Although we’ll move this idea to Not in Pipeline as it’s too broad in scope, I do want to acknowledge that creating a more succinct and harmonised experience across features is very much top of mind for our product teams.

Hi there 👋 appreciate your feedback on the recent release of our drag and fill feature within the invoicing table.

Appreciate this differs to what you're asking here, in being able to copy and paste contents from another source into line items.

In terms of moving lines around, it's possible to drag an entire line up or down your rows. Just click and drag from the 6 dots to the left of the table.

We want to be upfront copy paste of information isn't something we have plans for atm, but will share if there's any progress here.

The "Invoicing - Use drag & drop to copy line details" feature you have just released is not helpful.

Please bring back drag and drop text. I used to be able to select one word in the description field (such as the purchase order number brought through from the project) and drag it to the reference field.

I also used to be able to rearrange the words in the description field by dragging and dropping words to another line or within the same line.

I still don't understand why this feature was removed and has not been put back when you have so many customers asking for it.

    Thanks for another disappointment.

We require payment of cash sales before goods are sent to customer's, we need to know when payments have been made in real time in order to get the goods to our customers in a timely manner.
I reconcile payments to the bank account everyday so I can see when invoices are paid via internet banking. When it comes to invoices paid via stripe however, there is no reconciliation until the money comes into the bank account, so I don't know that these invoices have been paid until well afterwards.

This means customers are not receiving their goods when they should be.

An email sent advising that the invoice has been paid via stripe would mean payments will be picked up as soon as they are paid and customers will receive their goods when they should.

It it ridiculous that you can set the supplier default as 'tax exclusive' but Xero doesn't apply this to the supplier invoices when they are emailed through. I have wasted so much time putting in defaults for suppliers for it to not even work.

Trying to find out whether I had missed a step to make this work I found this article:

Xero support article: Email bills to your Xero organisation.
When you email bills into your organisation, Xero automatically applies your organisation's default settings. If you've set up purchase defaults for an individual supplier, those will override your organisation defaults. If Xero detects specific details on the imported bill, such as the due date, that are different from the supplier defaults, the imported bill data overrides the supplier settings.

The draft bill is set to Tax Inclusive, which overrides any organisation or contact defaults that are set. The correct tax amount will be calculated once an Account Code and Tax Rate rate are applied."

What is the point of even having this setting if Xero just overrides it. Please fix this issue ASAP!

Hi everyone, we’d like to round back to share an update that the ability to accept deposits has now rolled out to all AU, NZ, UK, CA, SG and US organisations, and we expect to make this available to remaining regions soon.

Staying close to feedback from its release, our team have recently added a due date field in which you can select a specific date that payment of the deposit is expected if this differs from the Invoice due date.

I look forward to looping back to finalise once we’re at 100% roll out of deposits, and give you a hint of where we’ll be expanding functionality next!

I've been waiting for years for this and on the innovations page it looks like this is only going to be available if you connect Stripe with Xero. Not helpful to customers who don't have that service.

Hi team, while we began work on developing the ability search and sort by tasks in Projects the teams focus had to shift to other priority work and we want to be open that this has been put down for now.

When there is the ability to pick this back up we'll return to share with you here.

    Hi Kelly

To reinforce Natalee's comment: "Thank you Kelly. That is disappointing. I wonder how many employers are aware of this limitation." I was not aware of this! I find this very frustrating, just another workaround to something that should work as expected.

So what you're saying here then, is that you are not going to fix the problem nor are you going to make your customers aware of the problem during pay runs. So you are leaving customers open to not being compliant with employment standards while believing they are. That seems like very untrustworthy behaivour.

Hi everyone, a year on from my last engagement we wanted to provide an update for you all here.

As many will be across we're in the midst of making a lot of iterations and improvements to new invoicing leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing in September (2024).

We have a fair amount of work lined up in the teams schedule over the coming months and to give an indication there isn't any committed plans around a function to add interest to invoices.

That said, we do have a team that have picked up and are considering how we might solve this with the technology in new invoicing - It's early days on this yet, but I'll share if there's any progress on this for you all here.

In the meantime, as has been shared by others over time there are a few ways you could accomplish this…

Hi Karen, this does sound like odd behaviour and would be good to get a closer look into. I see you've also come into our Xero Support team and they've suggested booking a time to connect and share screen so they can see the behaviour occurring for you. If you can respond to them through your My Cases they can investigate this with you 1-on-1. Thanks

Thanks for your detailed feature request to introduce task categories and sub-tasks in Xero Projects.

We’ve reviewed your submission and have now moved it to the Gaining Support stage.

This means the idea is live on the forum for other members of the Xero community to add their votes and comments. Our team keeps an eye on the ideas in this stage and uses the number of votes and the shared use cases to gauge demand for new features.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback and help us improve Xero.

Hello everyone, thanks for the detail and support shared for this idea. We understand how recurring expenses would enable efficiency when you have frequent expenses of a similar nature (like subscriptions), so have moved the idea to Accepted.

Currently there is work needed within expenses to enable us to develop this capability. Once we're in a better position to be able to dive deeper into this work, we'll review all of your suggestions and share any progress with you here.

Hi everyone, thanks for your detailed feedback on combining multiple images to a single receipt.

We are changing the status of this idea to In Discovery.

This means our Product team has recognised that combining multiple images for a receipt will be a more streamlined process for expenses, especially for events like business travel and is the initial scoping phase, but haven’t got to the point where it’s on their road map.

We will continue to track your votes and comments as we progress, and we will update you all once we know more.

Keep tasks in same order as they are in the project when generating a tasks and expenses invoice.
We put the job name as the first task then the steps of each job as different tasks underneath. Some of these steps are the same for each job so when the invoice generates with these in a different order, we cannot simply reorder these in the invoice because we can't tell which step is for which part of the job.
