Thanks for your feedback, Michelle. At this initial stage as we roll out deposits as you're aware this will only be available with Stripe. However, we understand there are differing user flows and would like to better gauge interest in the idea here.
We'll share if there are any updates.

Hi everyone, we’d like to round back to share an update that the ability to accept deposits has now rolled out to all AU, NZ, UK, CA, SG and US organisations, and we expect to make this available to remaining regions soon.
Staying close to feedback from its release, our team have recently added a due date field in which you can select a specific date that payment of the deposit is expected if this differs from the Invoice due date.
I look forward to looping back to finalise once we’re at 100% roll out of deposits, and give you a hint of where we’ll be expanding functionality next!

Surely, you don't have to be connected to Stripe to use this feature... Surely....

Important to be able to add links to product information and terms and conditions. Come on Xero, surprise us by doing something we actually ask for / want from the system rather than creating more new ways to charge us extra for things we don’t want.
It really is quite mediocre that this important accounting function - which has been requested for 10 years now - still can't be advanced by Xero without tying it in with another money grab. Stripe cannot be integrated by our business type, we have our own merchant account providers (much lower fees than Stripe at any rate) and at least 50% of funds received by us are by EFT. Get it done Xero, FFS.
