Hi Hannah, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the business structure view in Xero Practice Hub. It’s helpful to understand how important it is to see clearer client details at a glance when you’re managing groups of clients.
Your suggestion around having a more detailed business structure breakdown makes sense, especially as broader categories like Other can cover a mix of different client situations.
We’ve now moved this idea to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for the community to vote and add comments. This helps us understand what’s most valuable to you, and we’ll keep you posted as things progress. If others would find this useful too, feel free to share your thoughts.

I support this request.
Our firm allocates each client to a specific Partner, and not being able to display a Partner column in the client list creates unnecessary extra steps. It slows down work allocation, permission updates, and general administration because we have to open each client file just to see who is responsible.Adding optional columns for Partner, Client Group, file type, and subscription details would make XPM far more efficient and better aligned with how firms actually manage clients.

The current fixed order of fields within the Client Information screen (Client tab) is leading to inefficient data entry and potential oversight of critical details. We request an improvement to the field ordering logic, ideally through admin-level customization.
1. The Need for Re-ordering (Current Issues)
The current arrangement does not prioritize fields based on operational importance or logical grouping:
Operational Priority: Critical identification fields, such as the Partner and Client Code, are often placed illogically far down the page, sometimes below less essential fields like the Website URL. This forces staff to constantly scroll to capture essential details.
Logical/Compliance Grouping: Sensitive financial fields, such as Billing Rates, appear to be placed before or near compliance-related information like the Tax File Number (TFN). Fields should be grouped logically to aid consistency and data security awareness.
2. Proposed Solution: Custom Field Order
We request that XPM development implement one of the following solutions:
Option A (Best): Allow Administrators/Users to define and customize the order of the fields on the Client Information screen to match their firm's specific workflow.
Option B: Implement a more logical, pre-defined re-ordering that places key operational fields (Partner, Client Code) at the top of the tab, and ensures sensitive data is grouped appropriately.
Implementing customization would be a significant quality-of-life improvement, allowing firms to align XPM's interface with their unique data entry processes.
Thank you for considering this request.
