  1. When using Xero Practice Manager (XPM) for job management, it’s incredibly difficult to maintain visibility because there’s no audit trail or history log for key actions like:

    • When a job was created or reassigned
    • Who changed the job’s due date or status
    • When a job’s responsibility moved from one team member to another

    This lack of transparency makes it almost impossible to track accountability or performance accurately.

    Why is this so important?
    As a firm, we track job completion and lodgement performance, but without a history log, we can’t see whether a job was reassigned after the due date or…

  2. XPM Notes - Restore date and time details.

    With the new changes to notes in XPM it now shows an approximate timeframe ie- a month ago, 2 months ago.

    It no longer shows an actual time stamp on the note to know when it was created or when it was edited...

    We use the notes section to record ATO interactions and being able to give them an exact date is much more effective than to say about 2 months ago. Especially when they haven't met their requirements with solving issues.

  5. There is currently no option in XPM to build a report that shows the GST returns that have not been created yet. Whilst this is possible using the [Client] Tax Return Status field for Financial year end returns, it is not possible for GST returns.

    For practices needing to file 100s of GST returns for various clients each month. Having the ability to see, for a given period, whether any GST filings were missed would be extremely helpful.

    Hi David, we appreciate your idea about GST return tracking in XPM. Being able to create a custom report to view GST returns that haven’t been done yet would be really helpful, especially for practices managing high volumes of returns.

    We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support, so it’s now open for votes and comments. The more feedback and use cases shared here, the better our product team can understand how valuable this would be.

It would be great to be able to create our own reports using any datas available in the system and not be restricted to the pre-existing one : my need is to mix some information from the payables with information from the third party card but I cannot do that directly in the solution I need to export both and do it in excel.

  7. The current fixed order of fields within the Client Information screen (Client tab) is leading to inefficient data entry and potential oversight of critical details. We request an improvement to the field ordering logic, ideally through admin-level customization.

    1. The Need for Re-ordering (Current Issues) The current arrangement does not prioritize fields based on operational importance or logical grouping:

    Operational Priority: Critical identification fields, such as the Partner and Client Code, are often placed illogically far down the page, sometimes below less essential fields like the Website URL. This forces staff to constantly scroll to capture essential details.

  9. Add a "To Do" checklist on the Home Page Dashboard. This will help multiple collaborators to track what remains to be done on their bookkeeping within Xero.

  12. Incorrect Bulk Update and Suggested Notification Process

    Example Scenario:
    On Job Manager, a staff member accidentally selected all active jobs and changed their status from “In Progress” to “Completed” using the bulk update feature.
    Impact:

    Over 150 jobs were marked as completed.
    Workflow visibility was disrupted, and deadlines were missed because jobs disappeared from active lists.

    Root Cause:

    Bulk update permissions were too broad.
    No audit trail or alert triggered when job states changed.

    Recommended Controls:

    Trigger Email Notifications for Job Status Changes/Setting up email alerts
    Detecting incorrect bulk updates
    Reverting changes quickly Options
    Require confirmation before applying changes to…

  13. In XPM when adding time through the clock, you can add the client, the job and the task that you are working on as well as add notes and mark as billable.

    It would be really useful to have a drop down for the job state as well so that this could be updated once you have worked on the job. The ability for quick job state update already exists on the Jobs Overview table so would be good to have here as well from a workflow point of view

    Thank you for your interest in having multicurrency available on Xero’s Ledger plans.

    We’ve carefully considered this idea as part of our ongoing product reviews. At this stage, enabling multicurrency for Ledger plans is not in our development pipeline, and there are no plans or timelines to introduce this feature for Ledger.

    We appreciate your feedback and will continue to review our product roadmap based on customer needs and market demand. If the status of this idea changes in the future, we’ll be sure to provide an update.

  16. It would be beneficial for the Bank Reconciliation Status to return positive insights as well. I have attached a rough adjustment for the 'Up to date' flag, and I feel the slight CSS value adjustment here makes it more visible that the Bank Reconciliation is in fact up to date.

  18. When entering a cost create a dropdown selection menu of standard costs that are setup in settings. Current system requires a prompt to type in the correct cost to appear and fill out preset cost and charge figures.

    Also include a drop down to select staff member entering the cost. This would be a time saver for mileage and expense claims so you could filter a disbursement report quickly and submit to save double working.

I'd like a dashboard showing all clients listed under our organization with all banking details as well as in the moment bank feed status (ie: is the bank feed active, does it needs to be refreshed, has it dropped). This would enable those that have many clients under their organization to work smarter to fix bank feeds as soon as they're down without delays.

    Hi team, thanks for engaging us on the idea here. We appreciate more visibility of client bank feeds would help when managing and serving your clients day-to-day.

    With the new Xero Partner Hub homepage we are designing and developing a range of widgets to help partners manage their practices. Right now, we're developing a Bank feed disruptions widget that'll help you identify any disruptions to bank feeds that affect your clients feeds, helping you to fix bank feeds as soon as they're down without delays.

    This is in development atm, and I'll share an update when this becomes available within Xero Partner Hub.

  20. It would be good to be able to clearly identify accounting practice users on a clients xero platform. All they see is name and email and it would be good if the accounting firms name was somehow shown to give clients comfort especially where firms outsource work.
