Clients - Ability to set an email for a specific purpose
It would be useful to have settings to setup multiple emails on a clients record for different purposes. This would improve accuracy in communications and sending of documentation when managing clients.
82 votesWe're interested to understand the interest in being able to add multiple emails to a clients record, for the purposes of setting these up for different purposes.
It would be great to hear more detailed feedback from our partners on the particular purposes you'd want to set up emails for and how this would help you through Xero's practice tools. Thanks!

Practice tools | Clients - Jobs & Invoices view 'Archived' in the main tab
Recent change in XPM has moved the old/archived jobs and invoices to a different tab. I prefer the old layout where you can see the current and old jobs all in one place/screen.
The archived or old jobs have been moved to a different tab which means you cannot see both open and closed jobs at the same time. We rely on this when preparing annual accounts and tax returns because we often review all invoices or jobs for a full financial year, we hardly ever are only looking at the open jobs or invoices. The issue is we can…
34 votesHi everyone, upon further deep diving into the discussion raised here we are going to re-open this idea. We appreciate how being able to see both active and archived Jobs within a Client is useful to some practices workflows. We will be sure to share if there are any plans made around this with you here. Thanks

Xero AU Tax - Ability to prepare a future year tax return for a SMSF
We need the ability to prepare a future tax return for a SMSF as this is required to wind up a fund prior to year end. A trustee company can't be deregistered with the ASIC until a final tax return is lodged with the tax office so the time delay in preparing a future return impacts the client on annual company statements and costs associated with that as well.
The ability to prepare a future year return in Xero tax exists for other entity types but not SMSF's for some reason.
32 votesHi everyone thanks for sharing this idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. Currently they are available at the start of the following income tax year. We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. You can share this with your friends and colleagues who also want to see this feature. We will continue monitoring this space for traction.

AU Tax - Expand Financial Mapping to Include All Tax Return Schedules
Currently, when mapping the chart of accounts from your financial statements in Xero Blue to the tax return labels in XPM, you can only map to labels in the business schedule section of the return.
This means that accounts relating to other tax labels, such as rental property schedules, or other deductions, must be noted as "do not import", and then entered manually.
It would be great if there was the ability to map these accounts, in addition to those relating to the business schedule, as it would lead to further efficiency gains for accountants using Xero's suite of products.

47 votesHi community, thanks for engaging with this idea! It’s already gaining strong traction, and we can see how important this is to many of you.
We understand the value of being able to map general ledger accounts directly to all tax return schedules in Xero Tax, not just the business schedule. This improvement would go a long way in streamlining tax workflows, increasing efficiency, and reducing the risk of manual entry errors.
The idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. Your continued votes and comments help highlight its importance and guide our product team's priorities.

Report Templates - Trust tax rate 39% 2025 and 33% in comparatives in annual accounts tax note
The NZ tax rate for a trust's income tax has changed in the 2025 tax year from 33% to 39% when the taxable income in the trust is $10,000 or more.
At present we are not able to have a different formula in comparatives to the formula in current year, so a modification to the If( . . ) statement in the current annual accounts tax note cannot be made that would work for 2025 and comparatives. At the moment the only solution available per Xero Support is a custom line, with accounting staff manually entering the tax payable amount…
66 votesThanks for raising the idea with us here, community.
Currently, there's no functionality in Xero to have a single row have two different formulas for each column, or have two columns appear when grouped. (Example, the 2024 column cannot be calculated with 33% tax if the formula for the row is calculated with 39%)
Right now as Paul's noted 🙏, we'd recommend using a 'Custom' row in the Notes report and have the row heading be similar to 'Tax Payable (33% 2024, 39% 2025)'.
In doing so, you'll then be able to manually input the figures into this section of the notes report after you click 'Update layout'.
We don't have any immediate plans for developing this capability, but I want to assure you interest for this has been shared with our product team and we'll update you if there's any news.

Clients - Default address to practice region e.g (AU)
The process for entering addresses for clients needs to be easier and more streamlined. It should default to Australia (the overwhelming majority of clients have Australian addresses). You should also be able to copy street address to postal address, rather than having to reenter the data.
15 votesHi Megan, thanks for your feedback on the new Partner Hub experience when entering client addresses. Your input is valuable to and appreciated. We have moved this idea to Gaining Support and the Product team will be looking over all the feedback from our customers/partners so they can get a better idea of the experience and functionality of the new platform. Thanks again for sharing this with us.

NZ Tax - Auto Allocation option for Partnerships, Trusts & LTC's
Would be good to have an "Allocate" command button so income, deductions, tax credits are split automatically as per the percentage for each individual in a trust, partnership and LTC company. It is time consuming when there are multiple individuals and varying percentage splits.
36 votesWe're grateful for your engagement and letting us know the changes that matter to you.
We've reviewed your idea to add an auto allocation button and it can now gain support from other community members.

Practice Manager - Re-ordering of tasks on a job
XPM has been updated recently (April 2025) and the update has removed the re-ordering of tasks function. We used the re-ordering function to put all tasks in chronological order e.g. monthly payroll tasks, VAT returns, year end accounts were all arranged in date order. Since the update all the re-ordering that we have completed on jobs have been changed and now all tasks are non-chronological and in a jumbled order. This is very frustrating. Please could Xero re-instate the ability to re-order tasks as required? These changes are a backwards step.
39 votesThanks for sharing your idea regarding manual reordering of tasks on a job.

XPM - Pre-fill PAYG Instalments report
In Xero Practice Manager, we can view the ATO prefill PAYG Instalment amounts for each client individually. Is it possible for XPM to create a report or export option that allows us to download the full ATO prefill PAYGI list for all clients at once?
15 votesHi Tanya, thanks so much for your feedback on PAYG Instalment reporting in XPM. We really appreciate you taking the time to share how a bulk export of ATO prefill data would help your practice.
We’ve reviewed your idea and moved it to Gaining Support, which means it’s now open for the community to vote on and add their own comments. If you’re able to share a bit more about your workflow, it might encourage others to jump in with their experiences too, and give the product team a clearer picture of the need.
We’ll keep you updated on any progress.

Report Builder Fields - Include fields from Tax Return Data
It is not currently possible to pull a report of all clients that have Franked distributions (field U) and Franking credit (field D) on their tax returns. As the ATO has released a new area of focus on franking credit trading rules known as the '45 day holding period rule' we would like an easy way to track and highlight companies that could
27 votesAppreciate you raising the idea in the forums here. We'll continue to get a sense of the interest in being able to pull these Franking fields with the report builder.
If there are any plans made for enabling this we'll be sure to share with you all here.

XPM - Audit Trail for jobs in XPM
When using Xero Practice Manager (XPM) for job management, it’s incredibly difficult to maintain visibility because there’s no audit trail or history log for key actions like:
- When a job was created or reassigned
- Who changed the job’s due date or status
- When a job’s responsibility moved from one team member to another
This lack of transparency makes it almost impossible to track accountability or performance accurately.
Why is this so important?
As a firm, we track job completion and lodgement performance, but without a history log, we can’t see whether a job was reassigned after the due date or…16 votesThanks for sharing your feedback on introducing audit trail functionality to XPM. We appreciate you explaining how important visibility and accountability are for managing teams and tracking job performance.

Report Templates - Tier 3 Report update
Very disappointed to hear that you haven't considered how the new reporting standards for Tier 3 entities is going to effect the reporting templates i.e. the requirement to split grants into multiple sub-categories, which is only one area of the new reporting standards that needs to be expanded.
Would you be able to make this a high priority for the product team and provide a reasonable timeframe as to when this will be considered for further development as obviously we need to meet our obligations and your reporting mapping is no longer going to make this easy for us given…47 votesHi community, thanks so much for the great feedback so far. The changes to Tier 3 reporting standards - especially around grant categorisation are clearly important, and it’s great to see this idea gaining momentum quickly.
This request is now in the Gaining Support stage, so it’s on our radar for further consideration. If you’re using Tier 3 reporting, we’d love to hear more about what specific features or improvements would help you most. Your input really helps guide the product team’s priorities.
Please keep the votes and comments coming. We’ll be sure to share updates here as we learn more. Thanks again for being part of the conversation!

NZ Tax - Transfer donation rebate to multiple years, tax types and IRD numbers
Having the option to transfer a donation rebate to multiple tax types, tax years and IRD numbers would be great. For example, transferring credit to terminal tax and also provisional tax or tax owing from a previous year.

Client - View Contact Salutation or alternate name
View salutation or an alternate name field
As many clients are addressed by a different name other than their legal/birth name, it would be helpful to be able to view their salutation, or an alternate name, in the contact section of the client, without having to go into the contact to see this information.16 votesHi team, we appreciate wanting to be able to see this information more readily available. While we continue to get a sense of the interest in this through the idea we'll let you know here if there are any changes planned.

Clients groups - Bulk update contact details for members
In the previous version of XPM, when updating a group member’s contact details (e.g. address), we had the option via a preview screen to confirm which fields to update and to whom else the update may apply to within that group. This functionality appears to be missing in the current Beta version.
This feature made updating details across a client group more efficient.
16 votesThanks for your feedback, Patrizia, it's really good to hear about features that you find help you move efficiently when managing your clients and practice.
We'll get a sense of the interest from this here and I'll share if there are any updates.

AU Tax - Add Rental Property schedule to Company Tax Return (CTR)
In the company return you have the ability to create a new schedule.
Specifically, A rental statement to be included here:17 votesHi everyone, thanks for raising this idea. We know rental income and expenses are a key part of tax for many businesses, and it would be super helpful to have a rental property schedule within the Company Tax Return (CTR) in Xero Tax.
At the moment, there aren’t any rental worksheets for companies in Xero Tax, because the ATO doesn’t accept rental schedules on a CTR through PLS. That means this part of the return needs to be managed outside the system — which we understand isn’t ideal.
That said, we can see this idea is already getting some traction, and it's now in the Gaining Support stage. If this would improve your workflow, feel free to vote or add a comment. It really helps the team understand what matters most to you.

XPM - Monthly Productivity Pie Chart
Currently the productivity pie chart on the home page only reports on a weekly basis. It would be great if the home page can add a 2nd productivity pie chart which is set to report on a monthly basis. Most accounting firms/staff have monthly productivity targets, so this is why it would be a wonderful way to track MTD productivity results instead of only weekly.

Practice Manager - Invoice Templates by Client Type
It would be really helpful if invoice templates could adjust automatically based on client type, instead of having to create and assign multiple templates manually.
For example:
1. Individuals and Partnerships would include the 'Attention' field, but not include the 'Contact Name' field
2. Company invoices would include the 'Attention' field, but not the 'Contact Name' field
3. Trusts, SMSFs, and Charities would include both the 'Attention' field and the 'Contact Name' fieldThis would save time, reduce errors, and ensure invoices are always addressing the legal entity correctly for each client type.
Thanks for considering this improvement!

Staff - Ability to request access to Clients from admin
It would be handy for a Staff member to be able to send a request to a Practice admin to access a Client when needed.
6 votesHi community, we've started this request to gauge specific interest in enabling staff to request access to a Client within the unified experience.
Stemming from this original idea, this isn't something we have direct plans of at this time, but our product teams are staying close to the ground on what our practices would like to see developed and will consider this in future planning. 🙏
