    Hi team, this idea has been created off the back of an original post here to get a better idea of the interest for being able to hold selections across status lists within AU Tax.

    While we don't have immediate plans around this it would be good to gauge the wider interest in this from the community here. Thanks

  2. Users have control over which columns are visible and the order in which they appear. This is managed through drag-and-drop functionality or by checking/unchecking column options.

    Hi everyone, we have started this idea off the back of the original post here so we can get an understanding of support for being able to show or hide columns on a user basis within AU Tax.

    Being upfront, we don't have any plans for this at present but would like to get an idea of the interest through this idea.

  3. Under Collaboration Manager, please add the option to include or exclude completed jobs/quotes from the displayed list and search results.

    This functionality should allow users to easily filter between active and completed items, as well as allocate unallocated jobs/quotes to either open or closed jobs.

    This will improve operational efficiency by eliminating the need to first reopen a completed job merely to allocate an item and then close the job again afterwards.

    When the label 2 of an ITR is prefilled, I want to be able to detail or write a breakdown of what that allowance amount consist of from the client's STP income statement. e.g.
    - Laundry ###,
    - Motor vehicle ###,
    - Telephone ###

    at the moment the function just inputs the total allowance figure shown in prefill

    Hi Christopher, appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this. While STP prefill helps reduce manual entry, we understand there are times where additional detail is needed to complete the return.

    Having a clearer breakdown of allowances within the tax return could help reduce manual work. We’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can track feedback and share interest with the product team.

  6. Xero Tax makes no attempt to look at the age of the recipient of superannuation annuities. Taxed Elements for individuals over 60 years of age are meant to be excluded from the tax return. The ATO does this automatically - Xero Tax does not. It is not a feature request, this is an error in the software that needs rectifying.

    Thanks Chris for the feedback. We hear that reviewing and adjusting superannuation components based on age can add extra steps during the return process.

    Incorporating age-based logic for Superannuation Taxed Elements may help reduce manual handling and support more streamlined preparation workflows. This has been moved to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share it with the product team.

  7. In XERO Tax - when retrieving the EFT reports for monies into Trust. Currently XERO only allows one at a time. If you have 30 or 40 fee from refund returns in one day, you never get the reports in time. Other softwares allow a bulk download that shows (eg - on 20 April 2026) this many deposits were made to your Trust Account and these are the clients they are in relation to. This is one snapshot for one day. It is an impossible function as it stands for big practice.

    Thanks Meschel for raising this. We hear that managing EFT reports individually can be time-consuming.

    The idea of bulk exporting EFT details in one action could help improve efficiency for firms handling larger workloads. This has now been moved to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking demand and share it with our product team.

  9. Please add "Out to Sign" in the Lodgements Widget Calcuation, it's important. If you are showing as say 74% on time and you have 10% out to sign, we want to know this so that we know that we are really at 84%. I love that the suspended returns are in the number but we should also have the out to sign, even if it's an added bar.

    So you have On time, out to sign, not lodged, late. So instead of the 3 bars in the image, 4 bars.

It would be great to have Payroll Manager for Australia, to be able to see a list of clients who have payroll, reporting on last posted payrun, last filed payrun, last superannuation payment, status of superannuation payment (ie: submitted, approved, rejected, failed, etc). this would save significant time rather than having to open each client file one by one to check this information.

    This is something we’ve heard interest in from other customers as well, so we’re moving it into the Gaining support stage. From here, other users can add their votes and comments, which helps show how many people would find this useful and the different ways it would help them.

    Our product team regularly reviews ideas in this stage alongside other work. While we can’t promise if or when this will be developed, the level of support and detail shared here is an important input into future planning.

  11. Grab all ATO online prefill data. Why exclude the data that shows how many days hospital cover was covered? Why not provide all the data that is available on the portal prefill pintouts? (Including previous year deductions and occupation etc)

    Thanks so much for raising this and explaining how you’re using the ATO prefill data. We’ve logged your feedback and will move it into our Gaining Support process so the product team can consider it alongside other work. At this stage there are no planned changes to how Xero imports Medicare and ATO prefill data, but your input is really valuable in helping us understand where improvements would add the most value..

  12. Please add a field at the top of the client page where you can clearly identify in BOLD RED if the client has a stop work/file on hold action. This is helpful for clients that have overdue fees or if they are clients that we require upfront payment for. This needs to be visible on this page so it can not be missed by anyone that may undertake some work who is not aware.

    Hey Amy, thanks for sharing your feedback and for explaining how an alert or “on hold” option in Xero Practice Manager would help you manage work for clients who owe outstanding fees. We’ve reviewed this idea and are now moving it to the Gaining support status so other partners can vote and add their own use cases.   13. Competitor software provides a summary of the CGT events from a tax return in a 'line-per-transaction' view that's easy for clients to view and understand. This is lacking since switching to Xero Tax.

    Hi Alex , we appreciate your feedback on how a dedicated CGT Event Summary report could make it easier to review and reconcile complex capital gains activity during tax prep.

    Having a single report to view CGT events and supporting calculations could help reduce the need to work across multiple schedules and asset records. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share the feedback with our product teams.

  14. Including IR4J as a Return Type in report builder - Reposting

    when we have a report that we would want to specify the type of return e.g. ir3, ir4 there does not seem to be the IR4J specifically for when we file a IR4J on its own for members apart of a consolidated group and only require to file their own imputation return.

    It would be great if this could be included as this helps when reporting our internal filing stats.

    We’re updating the idea status to Gaining support ✨, so others can add their votes and share how this would fit into their own workflows. Right now there aren’t any confirmed plans to introduce this change in Xero Tax, but your feedback – along with future votes and comments – will be really important input when we’re reviewing and prioritising improvements in this area.

  15. I have a number of Trust clients where we expect an assessment. The ATO takes a LONG time to issue these, so I think it would be good to have a similar Notice of Assessment flag like we do for individuals, so we can see which are still outstanding.
    Not all trusts have assessments but we should be able to trigger this by the question on the front page of the return about whether the trustee has tax payable.

    Hi Vicki, we understand how having assessment tracking for Trust returns, similar to NOA tracking for Individual returns, could help monitor outstanding assessments.

    We appreciate the suggestion to use existing return indicators, like trustee tax payable, to help surface tracking statuses automatically.

    We’ll continue to track the interest and feedback shared here.

  16. Public Holiday configuration: There should be a place for admin to set up public holiday for all practice members instead of them having to submit individual timesheets.

    The purpose is to have all necessary data for practice manager to do capacity planning accordingly.

  17. Would it be possible to create a new relationship option for Self Managed Superannuation Funds - 'Custodian'. Often when we have SMSF's with properties the SMSF has a trustee company and also an additional company as Custodian for the SMSF. It would be helpful to link both companies to the SMSF via relationships to get a better view of the client's structure.

  18. Since the change to the partner hub, this has disappeared.

    I cannot be the only one who accessed activity statements from the job and not the tax returns tab?

    They disappear into the tax return tab abyss now.

  19. Allow businesses access to workpapers including workflows etc, the same as accounting practices have. This will allow bigger businesses to set up appropriate workflows and not have to take reconciliations out of Xero to complete, saving time and improving processes.

  20. It would be good if the "Mark as Approved" and "Mark as Signed" buttons in XPM were different colours rather than the same green. It is very easy to click on Mark as Signed in error.
