Practice tools | Clients - Jobs & Invoices view 'Archived' in the main tab
Recent change in XPM has moved the old/archived jobs and invoices to a different tab. I prefer the old layout where you can see the current and old jobs all in one place/screen.
The archived or old jobs have been moved to a different tab which means you cannot see both open and closed jobs at the same time. We rely on this when preparing annual accounts and tax returns because we often review all invoices or jobs for a full financial year, we hardly ever are only looking at the open jobs or invoices. The issue is we can no longer print or screenshot the full financial year because the information now sits across two tabs.
I would prefer to return to the old layout where open jobs appeared at the top and archived jobs appeared at the bottom, all on one screen. This allows for easier printing, and also reduces number of clicks to find the information you need.
If the intention was to give users the option to hide older jobs or invoices an idea could be to add a drop down arrow for the archived section, so archived jobs and invoices can be hidden unless the user wants to see them. This would still keep everything on one page but hide the older data.
For the Jobs screen it would also be helpful if the job 'manager' of the job could be shown in this view. If this cannot be added for all users, could we add a way way to customise the columns on a users own login
Hi everyone, upon further deep diving into the discussion raised here we are going to re-open this idea. We appreciate how being able to see both active and archived Jobs within a Client is useful to some practices workflows. The whole update to XPM is one of the worst updates xero has completed in the 10 years we have been using this as a practice, so difficult to use and understand, please just change it back.
