Hey everyone, thank you for all your feedback. We’re on a long journey to provide more granular access and controls within Xero features that our customers need.
As you may have seen in some of our recent updates across other user roles ideas we’re currently in the process of adding more permissions within Reporting and Inventory. Further to this our research has highlighted Payroll and Banking as areas that more controls are most needed, and are on our agenda as we continue to develop permissions and access to features.
Your feedback here and through direct engagements with our teams have been extremely insightful, and we appreciate all your inputs.
I'll continue to provide updates on the development of roles for features as we progress.

We appreciate you taking the time to share and support this idea. We can see that this idea is already gaining traction amongst the community. Giving Invoice Only users the ability to send or print approved invoices has the potential to simplify your workflow and make day-to-day tasks more efficient.
Enabling this functionality would allow the same users who create and approve invoices to also send or print them, reducing handovers and helping your business operate more smoothly. It’s a great example of how a small change can lead to better team autonomy.
Currently, this action is available to users with Standard, Advisor, or Invoice Only – Approve & Pay roles. Expanding this to other Invoice Only roles, such as Draft, Sales, or Purchases could make Xero even more flexible for teams with clearly defined responsibilities.

Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. Xero’s current roles (including Read only) are intentionally broad, but we know they’re often too ‘all or nothing’. We can’t give a timeline for specific changes to Read only yet, but the direction is definitely toward more configurable roles and tighter control over what view-only users can see.

Hi team, thank you for the detail in the flows you have when trading that create the need in being able to create a credit note from a paid invoice in Xero.
While this isn't a feature we have planned for development, it'll be good to keep tracking the interest from our community. We will share if there are any updates.

Thanks for sharing your interest in being able to send invoices via WhatsApp from Xero.
While this isn't a direct feature available in Xero right now, an option right now for invoices is to use the Xero Accounting app where you can retrieve the link for the invoice to share this via another app on your device, like WhatsApp - we have help on this for iOS and Android in Xero Central.
We're continuing to get a sense of the support for this feature through this idea but want to be open this isn't something we have plans for at this time.

Allowing users with restricted access to edit any invoice, even after it has been submitted, emailed and paid, is a huge risk to security. It would be much safer to create a new invoice and credit the old one, at least this leaves a legitimate trail of evidence. I find it hard to believe that any other companies find this secure enough... Can you please escalate this matter and attempt to have this loophole repaired? I really think that I am not the only client who is concerned about this issue.
This is a very big issue for the security for any company where someone with limited access can amend and change old invoices.
What is the purpose then to give someone limited access, if they could just change an invoice without permission after the fact?Please escalate this concern
Would it be possible to have tick-boxes for every user so that we can customize what access this specific user has? Create invoice with tick-box, Approve and mail With Tick-box, What products can be accessed Tick-box, Which clients can be accessed Tick-box. etc.. This will be so helpfull
