  1. Would it be useful to have separate fields for Legal Name and Trading Name? This would separate the Legal Name as registered with ABN and the Trading Name used with Customers?

  2. Bookkeepers and accountants often manage multiple clients, with each client having multiple Xero organisations (e.g. trading entity, trust, SMSF, property entity, or separate business divisions).

    Currently, all Xero organisations are displayed in a single flat list within My Xero, making it difficult to quickly locate the correct organisation for a particular client.

    Proposed Feature

    Introduce the ability to create Client Groups (Folders) within My Xero that allow users to organise multiple Xero organisations under a single client.

  3. Your documentation describes Prepayments as "taxable". A "prepayment" in the US (assuming accrual basis) is considered a "deposit" for some future work. The deposit is not a taxable event until the "future work" is completely or partially invoiced, when the sales tax is applied to the amount invoiced. The "deposit" (the "prepayment") paid is merely an amount waiting to be applied as a payment against the invoiced work, in full or in part, and is not in itself a taxable transaction - unless the organization is on the cash basis of accounting.   4. It would be really useful to be able to log into more than one company on an reference basis only. I'm often in the middle of something when I am asked a question relating to another company by a colleague or client. I have to log out just to find one bit of information. I might have multiple windows open with different reports etc that I then lose. This is also very important when working on related companies to see intercompany loans in both companies at once.     Hi Cath, when you say you have to log out and then into the other org, are you using 2 separate Xero account logins?

    Appreciate not the ideal solution but you could use incognito mode atm, to open the organisation you need to reference?

  5. It is remarkably convoluted to change the base currency even when no transactions have been posted. It only seems to be possible by cancelling the subscription and starting again. I rely on clients purchasing the software and it is not unknown for them to enter an incorrect base currency. I have used other systems where changing the base currency is very quick and easy. I suggest you make this a little easier.

  6. Add the ability for Managers to approve bank account details for contacts. Ie the Bookkeeper can enter in & change the suppliers bank account details in Xero, but the manager can then go an approve it.

  7. We're auditors and some of our clients are having issues around providing consistent access to everything as they don't want us to have read-write access, and we don't want that either. What we'd like is a user class for auditors/regulators which is read only and allows access to everything.

  8. Could the Accounts Watchlist feature have an option to have user specific watchlists? The accounts I want to pay close attention to as Head of Finance is different to what the Finance Assistant wants to see. Not all accounts are organisation wide specific.

  9. Ability to cc and bcc when sending emails from xero.

    Hi community, we value your engagement in product ideas here. As you may have seen we've recently rolled out a new send experience in new invoicing. 

    With this new side-by-side view you'll find you can also CC and BCC other emails 🎉

    While this feature is contained to new invoicing atm, we'll look at applying a similar experience to other areas of Xero that you can send from in the future, so we'll keep you updated of any further developments for this here. Thanks!

  10. List prepayments separately from "Awaiting payment" report in Dashboard.
    At the moment, prepayments are lumped together with "Awaiting payment" reports in Dashboard. This gives a wrong view of the actual number of invoices that are awaiting payment. Please list prepayments separately on a different line.

  11. As part of our QA, we review the list of users to check that it is up to date, eg, remove terminated employees, remove auditors at the completion of the audit or revert to Read Only, etc.

    It would be great to be able to filter/sort the view by access type, such as looking only at Payroll Employees, or filtering them out.

When I am logged-in to Xero as a user with "Invoice only" and "only create drafts" permissions, it is my understanding that this user should not be able to create new invoice items or see menu options for creating new items. However, it appears this user can see this menu option when adding a line item to an invoice and attempt to create a new item, leading to an ambiguous error message.

  14. Would like to be able to add users with only access to invoicing, without them seeing any other part of Xero. This would be a huge benefit so I can have team members invoice customers without seeing company financials.

  15. add specific tiles to xero Dashboard from Business Snapshot.

    I would like on my dashboard 3 main tiles
    1. Revenue by month, 3 mths 6 and 12 months shown as options
    2. Expenses the same
    3. Financial Position this year by Rev, Expenses & Profit.

  18. This idea has been raised again and again but XERO isn't listening!!!

    The demo company is a great idea, but it makes no sense to automatically reload all the "duff" data every 30 days.

    It's VERY simple to achieve a very useful and flexible feature, by....
    1) Be able to clear all the data in the Demo Company
    2) Make the 30 day reload of useless data optional
    3) Enable cloning of an existing organisation

    We need to be able to test imports, features etc. and be able to return the "demo company" to EMPTY and if required to restore…

  19. It would be nice to be able to give access to the History and Notes to Standard users. Right now it's only visible for Advisors while I believe this is a feature that could be useful to Standard users as well.

  20. Hi, It would be great to see customers who exceeded their credit limits on the dashboard. We push sales invoices from third-party app therefore we don't see alerts if someone has no credit limit left. If we could see a list on the dashboard we could act immediately. Thanks
