Lock Date: ‘Unlock for Me Only’ Option for Accountants
When doing the year end processes, an accountant should be able to unlock the period for their log in only ie 'unlock for me only' as if the client or others have the same user access, they can change the accounts while we are working.

Organisation Settings - Allow customisation of company name abbreviations (initials)
The 3 letters that are by the company name are automatically chosen by Xero, we should be allowed to change this to something relevant, for example, my company is called ACR Fabrications Ltd, common sense would dictate those 3 letters should be ACR yet xero has chosen AFL which is obviously the first letter of each part but that's not relevant to my company

Settings | Keyboard shortcuts - Ability to update shortcuts at user level

Find and Recode - Warning that highlights impact when recoding tax type
Find and Recode should not be able to change tax type without fair warnings in Sales Invoices.
This is a risky feature to be used without warning. I have noticed that it doesn't change the sales invoice, which it shouldn't. But surprise was it could change any invoices selected no matter if those were already issued/ paid/ closed etc.

Group Entities in My Xero
Bookkeepers and accountants often manage multiple clients, with each client having multiple Xero organisations (e.g. trading entity, trust, SMSF, property entity, or separate business divisions).
Currently, all Xero organisations are displayed in a single flat list within My Xero, making it difficult to quickly locate the correct organisation for a particular client.
Proposed Feature
Introduce the ability to create Client Groups (Folders) within My Xero that allow users to organise multiple Xero organisations under a single client.

For US Xero: Correct the documentation for Prepayments.
Your documentation describes Prepayments as "taxable". A "prepayment" in the US (assuming accrual basis) is considered a "deposit" for some future work. The deposit is not a taxable event until the "future work" is completely or partially invoiced, when the sales tax is applied to the amount invoiced. The "deposit" (the "prepayment") paid is merely an amount waiting to be applied as a payment against the invoiced work, in full or in part, and is not in itself a taxable transaction - unless the organization is on the cash basis of accounting. Xero Central - Add change logs to Xero Central Support pages
Please include the date that support pages are updated and the version of Xero to which they are applicable.

Homepage - Have one consolidated homepage for Group of companies
Where you have a group of companies, it would be great if you could have a HomePage which consilidated the position across all Group companies. Forinstance if you had 3 subsidiaries under 1 topco, it would be great to see the cash balances, creditors and debtors of all 4 companies in one place.

nice feature1 voteHi Douglas, appreciate you sharing how Xero could be a more powerful tool for you. We understand that a Progressive Web App (PWA) experience could be useful for those looking for a more app-like desktop workflow with quicker access and a dedicated workspace.
Xero is currently designed to run through your web browser, alongside our mobile apps, and a full PWA version is not currently on our roadmap. In the meantime, you can create a desktop shortcut using Chrome or Edge to open Xero in its own window, which can help keep your workflow separate from other browser tabs.
I’ve updated this post to Gaining Support as we are keen to continue tracking feedback and gather more insight from the community on how this would support their workflows.

Contacts - Bank Sort Code | Add hyphen
XERO is the only system I know which does not automatically add the hyphen between the numbers. e.g. 00-00-00 Instead XERO goes 000000 and you have to add 2 hyphens. This would just be nice!

Xero Product Ideas - Notifications - enable/disable per post
Currently Product Idea notifications are either enabled or disabled.
Which means I get a ridiculous amount of emails for every single product idea I've ever commented or voted on. And given Xero's inability to actually resolve any of these issues, the number of notifications is going up and up.
Currently, because of the amount of complaints about the new homepage my inbox is full every morning.
I don't want any more notifications reminding me how bad the new home page is. However, I do want notifications on a lot of the other 'Product Ideas' that I am following.

Settings - Setting page collapsible headings
The Organisation settings page should have collapsible headings, similar to the Reports page, for clear, concise, and faster access to settings.
Currently, the new look of the organisation settings page is a large step backwards. It is difficult to quickly find and select a setting area that is not part of the shortcut menu options in the new look homepage/menu rollout.
The current organisation settings page is an exercise in excessive scrolling abilities to find the setting you need to access quickly.
