Thanks so much for outlining your T4A workflow and how you’re currently pulling this together in Xero – that context is really helpful.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining support ✨ so other customers can vote and add their own use cases. We’ll keep an eye on the votes and comments here to help us understand how important this is and how it might fit into our future plans.
While we can’t promise if or when this will be delivered, your feedback is now part of our product planning process. Thanks again for taking the time to share it and help us improve Xero for Canadian contractors’ reporting.

Hi team, thanks for sharing your interest in a payroll product for Canada. We don't have any plans in the near term for developing specific payroll products for other regions, and I will move this idea to Not planned.
If you've been using our Global Pay Run product you may have recently received communication of changes we're making that we believe will help you manage your payroll more effectively.

Xero is an excellent cloud accounting platform for Canadian businesses. However, one of its major shortcomings in Canada is the absence of a fully integrated native payroll solution. As a result, Canadian users need to depend on third-party payroll integrations, such as Wagepoint, Payworks, or Payment Evolution.
Many small businesses with straightforward payroll needs face unnecessary complexity, increased subscription costs, duplicate setup processes, and support challenges due to using multiple providers. A simple, built-in Canadian payroll module within Xero that handles CRA remittances, T4s, direct deposits, CPP, EI, and tax calculations would greatly enhance the user experience and make Xero more competitive in the Canadian market.
The absence of a native Canadian payroll system is one of the primary reasons we haven't transitioned all our clients to Xero, even though we appreciate many features of the platform. For small business clients, having accounting and payroll fully integrated into one system is a significant advantage. At present, competitors like QuickBooks provide a more seamless all-in-one solution for Canadian payroll requirements.
