Hi everyone, while we don't have a direct report for this, some changes we've made to History & Notes in Xero will help in achieving what you're in need of here.
You can run the History & Notes, filtering by Type = Contact and typing 'Bank account number' in the Search to just view results for this action.
If needed you'll be able to export your results to PDF or Excel.
Though the contact name doesn't show on screen, you can right click on the Contact in the report to open the contact's record in a new browser tab, that allows you to inspect details without navigating away from your History & Notes results.

Been following this thread. The bit that stuck with me is the notification going to whoever made the change, which is fairly useless if you're the manager.
I'm a developer in Brisbane and I've built a tool that does this. Connects to Xero, checks contact bank details every 15 minutes, emails whoever you nominate when they change. Not the person who edited it. It also flags when the account name stops matching the contact name, and tells you if you currently owe that supplier money. Keeps a log you can export as a CSV if an auditor wants every bank detail change for the year.
It's new and I've only tested it on demo data, so I'd rather hear from people who actually do this work than keep guessing. If anyone's willing to try it and tell me what's wrong with it, I'll give it to you free. support@ledgerwatch.app.

Been reading this thread. The report request is the bit that stuck with me, the scenario where a batch payment goes out and on the surface everything looks paid.
I'm a developer in Brisbane and I've built a tool for this. It checks contact bank details every 15 minutes and emails whoever you nominate when something changes, not the person who made the edit.
The part I've put most work into is what the alert actually tells you. It shows who made the change where Xero records it, whether the new account name still resembles the contact name, whether you have unpaid bills sitting against that supplier right now, and whether the change happened outside business hours. It also picks up two contacts sharing the same bank account, including across different client files if you manage several.
Every change is logged so you can mark it off as reviewed, under investigation, or confirmed unauthorised, with a note on how you verified it. That log exports as a CSV, which is usually what an auditor is actually after.
It's early and I'd rather hear from people who deal with this properly than keep guessing. Happy to give it free to anyone willing to try it and tell me where it falls short. support@ledgerwatch.app, or ledgerwatch.app for a look first.
