Hi everyone, we’d like to round back to share an update that the ability to accept deposits has now rolled out to all AU, NZ, UK, CA, SG and US organisations, and we expect to make this available to remaining regions soon.
Staying close to feedback from its release, our team have recently added a due date field in which you can select a specific date that payment of the deposit is expected if this differs from the Invoice due date.
I look forward to looping back to finalise once we’re at 100% roll out of deposits, and give you a hint of where we’ll be expanding functionality next!

Thanks for your feedback, Michelle. At this initial stage as we roll out deposits as you're aware this will only be available with Stripe. However, we understand there are differing user flows and would like to better gauge interest in the idea here.
We'll share if there are any updates.

Totally agree with Michelle. Requiring customers to use Stripe simply to be able to collect a deposit is, in my view, highly restrictive and potentially anti competitive. Businesses should be able to choose their own payment provider rather than being forced into one particular platform to access what should be a basic accounting and invoicing function.
I really hope Xero is going to add this feature very soon, as this is pretty basic functionality for 2026. It’s very frustrating not to have this option, particularly when collecting deposits is such a standard part of doing business.
