Scheduled report delivery / recurring report automation
It would be extremely valuable to be able to schedule Xero reports to run automatically on a recurring basis, for example weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on a selected day and have them delivered by email or saved/exported automatically to a nominated location.
At the moment, reports that are needed regularly still have to be opened and exported manually. For organisations using recurring reporting, payroll assurance, project reconciliation, invoicing checks or management reporting, this creates unnecessary administration and makes otherwise repeatable workflows dependent on someone remembering to run the report.
Ideally, scheduled reporting would allow users to:
select any supported Xero report;
choose a recurring schedule such as weekly, fortnightly, monthly or a custom date;
retain saved filters, date settings and report configuration;
choose PDF, Excel/CSV or other available export formats;
email the report automatically to nominated recipients; and/or
save the generated report automatically to an approved connected location such as SharePoint, OneDrive or another integration destination.
This would also make Xero much easier to incorporate into modern automated and AI-assisted workflows. A recurring report could be generated consistently, filed automatically, and then used by approved downstream systems for reconciliation, exception checking, analysis or assurance without requiring someone to manually export the same data every week.
Scheduled reporting feels like a foundational reporting capability because the value of a report is not only being able to produce it, but being able to deliver the right information reliably at the point it is needed.
For our current use case, having several Xero reports generated automatically each week would remove repeated manual exporting and create a far cleaner evidence and assurance workflow.
