It would be extremely useful if Xero could add the Customer/Contact Name as a column under Latest transactions on the Products and Services item screen.
As you can see from the screenshot, we can currently see the invoice number, quantity sold, price and amount, but we cannot see who actually purchased the product.
For a business like ours carrying thousands of different stock items, this information is very important when deciding how much stock to keep on the shelf.
For example, this item shows that it has been sold on different invoices. But just looking at this screen, I cannot tell whether those sales were to one customer repeatedly buying the product or multiple different customers buying it.
That makes a big difference when making a purchasing decision. If five different customers are buying an item, I may want to keep more stock. If all the sales are going to only one customer, I may manage the stock completely differently.
I understand that we can open invoices individually or run reports to find this information, but that defeats the purpose of having the Latest transactions displayed directly on the product page. The information should be available at a glance.
MYOB provided this functionality, and after moving from MYOB to Xero this is one feature we have really missed.
It seems like a very simple but extremely useful addition:
    Date | Type | Customer | Reference | Quantity | Price | Amount
Having the Customer Name there would allow us to immediately understand the demand for an item and make much faster decisions about how much stock to reorder and keep on the shelf.
Xero promotes inventory as helping businesses understand sales patterns and make better stock and reordering decisions. Adding the customer name to this existing table would make this screen considerably more useful for exactly that purpose. Xero
I would really appreciate Xero considering adding this feature. It would save us a lot of unnecessary clicking and reporting during everyday stock management.
There is actually already an existing Xero request for exactly this feature, so rather than creating another one, you could also add your vote/comment to it:

Please read the comments and feedback from your customers and move the search box back as soon as possible. The issue is self-explanatory, and I am sure many regular users will understand immediately how this change has made the workflow less efficient.
We appreciate the useful new functions that have been added, but when a particular change slows people down, it should be acknowledged and corrected quickly.
