  1. Prior to the last update the upstanding invoices on the sales dashboard used to show amount outstanding. After the update it shows the total of the invoice. This is misleading as it is not showing the actual posts sing amounts.
I run a layby system in my shop and this new update although small is actually inconvenient as I now have to click into each invoice (many of my customers have various laybys ar one time) to see the actual outstanding amount vs total of the invoice.
Don’t suppose you could change it back??

  2. Quotes/Sales Overview
Be great to search by account in addition to current fields. For those business that need to track quotes based on product or brand or account, this would allow a business to see activity and also follow up quotes from the one screen. hope that makes sense.

  3. Currently the 'attach files' function in the Products and Services (Inventory) only allows attachment of files outside of Xero. It cannot attach files from Xero inbox.
Currently, my client will send documents directly into Xero inbox. I have to open the document, download it and save outside of Xero and attach files to Products and Services. Just too many steps. Would appreciate it if your team can look into this.

  4. As a DE User we would like to be able to upload a file to the bank creating the direct debits associated with subscriptions or payment plans. (The converse of the supplier payment batch file.)
The functionality exists already, including the space for the client's BSB and Account number; and the capacity for "strip invoicing" so this should be a relatively quick and easy job.

  5. Consolidate Depreciation posted to GL per asset category - currently my deprecation is reflecting per asset in the GL expense account. The Asset Register and Depreciation Schedule already serve the purpose of the per line item amount and basis for a reconciliation. Duplicating the detail adds a large amount of data into my GL ,especially when the asset base starts to grow. Please can it rather be consolidated in the GL per asset category per month ?

  7. It would be great to have the option when creating a bank rule to tick the bank accounts to run the rule on, as opposed to having ALL or just one. We often need to run the rule on say three of the five bank accounts, and are forced to set up three identical bank rules just so we can select each account, as we don't want to run the rule on all five accounts. This is particularly prevalent when using tracking categories. Some entities have different bank accounts for different areas of their business and when coding we'd like…

  8. Short cut for payment date to be equal to transaction date.

For example, you have entered a bill say 20/3/2023. The client has also paid it on the day. Rather than entering 20/3/2023, would be great to just enter say "s" in the date field and uses the transaction date for the payment date.

  9. Journal Accrual or Cash Basis default setting and journal import column.

Default journal setting in is Xero is to post on a cash basis - apply a settings to select which basis is the default method (Cash or Accrual)

Import journals on accrual basis - add an extra column to the import template to state if the journal is accrual or cash basis or a default setting if blank.

  10. We are a professional services company and use the quote feature to outline our objectives, scope of work and deliverables for a potential new project. As such, we use the summary window to enter all this information.

It would be very useful for us to be able to resize the summary window to view a larger portion of the text. Some of our descriptions can run to several paragraphs and as such, the ability to review more text would be incredibly useful.

I hope this can be implemented with some simple coding.

    Thank you.

  11. I'm creating a new report at the request of a client and I want to be able to add the selection of periods to compare, but ... it doesn't give me the option. Please can you add this to the 'create reports' function , and then, we can really create, beautiful and meaningful reports for our clients.

  12. Be able to send a remittance for a future payment. Currently you can only send remittances a day after the payment has been made when the bank feed has been updated. We have suppliers who wont process our payments without a remittance meaning we run the risk of our account being stopped or alternatively we have to generate a remittance using word which is just duplicating work.

You should be able to generate a remittance for any payment set up and not have to wait 24 hours after the payment is released form the bank account.

  13. In Xero it is possible to add notes to spend money and receive money transactions, however, this field is missing for imports. The import documentation doesn't show a notes field:

    https://central.xero.com/s/article/Import-a-precoded-CSV-bank-statement

The Description and Reference fields are intended to be from the bank statement, however, Xero has a notes function once you enter a spend or receive money. That's where I want to add a note during import.

    Please add this feature.

    Thanks

  14. Currently we have employees and contractors paid fortnightly through payroll. When printing annual earnings certificates the cert list contractors as employees rather than contractors and scores xero's for kiwisaver deductions and other taxes etc.

We need to be able to print different annual earnings certs that reflect info for employees, and reflect info for contractors with different titles on cert as contractor, not employee.

  15. Requested that Xero pull the project names to put on invoices. The information is already entered, would be a big time saver to auto-populated to project name on an invoice rather than manually typing it in

  16. I would love for the Watched Accounts box from the website dashboard to show up on my phone app dashboard. Sometimes I just need to see a bank balance or expense balance while traveling. Currently have to go to online website to see those watched accounts on my dashboard. Would be super cool to have them on phone app dashboard as well.

  17. When Posting a customer invoice it would be very useful to be able to see customer address and ROI vat number so I can apply the correct vat code. ATM I have to go to contact details for that information then back into invoice posting

Hi Gillian, understand it doesn't accomplish all of your idea here. However you can view a contacts address from the invoice. If you click on the 'To' field once you've added the contact you'll be able to view their email, postal and delivery addresses and telephone.

  18. I am not happy with the treatment of dishonoured/reversed payments on Xero when it comes to debtors/customers (and similarly creditors/suppliers) (see attached support screenshot).

Dishonoured payments must be processed via the accounts receivable and payable channels as is the custom on any other accounting package.

The customer's records and statements must reflect when payments were dishonoured (true refection) and it should not be handled outside of the customer's module as Xero is currently doing (by deleting the original payment from the customer and allocating it a GL account and then allocating the dishonoured reversal to the same GL account).

  19. Previously, in old "Customer Invoice Report" there was a feature under "Dates" where we could select "ANY" which allowed Invoices created outside of your selected date range to be included in your report.
This seems to be no longer available in the new "Receivable Invoice Report" and any invoices created outside of your selected date range (but paid within that date range) won't show up on the report.
You can expand your date range but this has potential to re-list paid invoices from previous reports.
Can "ANY' be added as an option to Dates as it was in previous version?

  20. Generate Reports with Trailing Time Periods

I want to have a report that tracks how my business is doing on a trailing X-day time period. Standard windows I view are 7 days, 30 days, and 90 days.

I would love it if I could create a custom P&L report that looks at the financial health of my business over the last 30 days whenever I open it up.

The current work around is to manually specify dates by calculating what was 30 days or 90 days into the past which works, but is annoying.

I am expecting this to be…
