Search by customer account number
Since the update, we can no longer search by customer account number.
1 voteThank you for your input here.
We’re currently modernising our ‘underhood’ technology for Contacts, so we can build more features faster in the future. However, I’m happy to say that we've already released the new version of the ability to search contacts using the account number.
Because of this, I'll mark this request as 'delivered', so the votes can be returned 🙂. -
Invoice settings - Separate Item & Description for new invoicing
Separates Item and Description in new invoicing
1 voteNew invoicing has had a bit of improvement and along with separate Item and description fields, you'll see there's an option to show or hide which fields of your invoice lines are shown. 😊

Reporting - Account Transactions need open close balances
When you change report settings on the Account Transactions (NEW) report to "Group By Account Code", you don't get the option to "Show Open and Closing Balances" or a "Running Balance" unlike the default option of "Group By Account". We use Account Codes more than Account for locating transactions and having the running balance and open / closing balances would make the report more useable.
1 voteGood news, everyone! Our Reporting team have been working hard behind the scenes to develop some great additions in the Account Transactions report recently.
We've released a new options to sort and summarise by 'Account Code & Name'.
Like you've asked - When sorting by this option, you'll still be able to view Open and Closing Balances! 🙂 -
New invoicing - Show more details without clicking into each line item on invoice
Hi,
I have started to use the 'new invoicing' that's just been released and can't say that I'm particularly impressed. Some of the simplicity of the old invoicing has disappeared. Please can you reinstate the visibility of the following:
Part Number/SKU number
Discount Given
Account
Tax RateWithout these being on the one page, it's very easy to make mistakes and not notice them.
Also, when entering plain text into the description I.E. a description of what the invoice contains, if I accidentally click in quantity or tab to it, it gets auto filled with avalue of 1 which can't…
1 voteHi everyone, in Oct last year we released an improvement to new invoicing where you can now show or hide fields of your invoice in the creation screen.
Checking in on the billable expense flow - we intend to develop how billable expenses data appears in new invoicing but it's not in the roadmap just atm.
We've also made a recent update to new invoicing to separate the Approve, Print and Send options, as well as provide more Approve options to the drop-down.

Expenses by Contact - Sort by Column Header
Hello,
Currently the report is sorted alphabetically by Contact name. It would be good to be able to sort the contacts by the column headers (e.g. by the month or the total).
That would help users to isolate rank their expenses and target where they should focus their effort to optimise costs.
Thanks
1 voteHappy to share that we've released our new version of the Income & Expenses report. Check out our article for steps on how to easily customise this report for just Expenses. From there easily sort by any of he column headers 🙂

Reconciliation - Bulk Reconcile transactions in the account transactions view
Bulk Reconcile transactions in the account transactions view
At the moment is very time-consuming to manually reconcile tons of transactions in the account transaction view. It would be very very very helpful to be able to tick the transactions we'd like to reconcile and be able to bulk reconcile them. At the moment we have to enter into each transaction and reconcile it. It's not scalable.
Thanks
1 voteYou can try to use Mark as Reconciled option, this is great for bulk reconciling if you have account transactions without a matching bank statement line. Heaps of detail on this Xero Central article.
Otherwise, there's the Cash Coding feature for quickly reconciling cash transactions. -
New Invoicing - Add last items
I like the layout of the new invoicing structure, though the only thing it's missing is the 'add last items' feature that was in the classic invoicing layout.
Could this feature perhaps be added?1 voteHappy to share our team have just added the ability to 'Add last items' in new invoicing. 🙂

Income by Contact Report - Add the ability to include account code
The Income by Contact report would be able to do this if filters were added so that it could be customised to include nominal code filters.
1 voteHello, we want to round back here and let you know that while grouping by account code isn’t available through Income by Contact report, you can use other reports such as the Account Transaction report to do this.
If you need 1:1 assistance on how to use the group by and filter function with these two reports, you can reach out to our support team :)

Bank Feeds Request - Virgin Money direct bank feed
Virgin Money have recently started to get into business banking and have launched savings accounts with leading rates.
It would be good if you could launch a direct bank feed integration with Virgin.
1 voteHey everyone, since our last update here you'd have heard of the new EU banking industry standards, which changed the way third parties access data from banks. As a result, Yodlee bank feeds which previously connected Xero with EU and UK banks are no longer available.
Instead, each UK bank is required to develop a gateway or API (Application Programming Interface) for accredited third parties to connect to in order to access bank account information, very similar to the direct feed that you've requested here.
We're pleased to let you know that this feed is available in Xero for Virgin Money, Clydesdale Bank, and Yorkshire Bank. If you have any questions about the feed or how to set it up, check out our support article here, or contact our support team for one-on-one help.
I'll go ahead and mark this request as delivered accordingly 😄 -
Reporting: Account Transactions Report - Description column pull from Transactions not Contact/Type
Ability to filter Account Transactions report by only Description. Currently description contains both the contact name and line description.
Purpose: Clarity of data when running the Account Transactions report, and ability to better filter and customise the Account Transactions report
1 voteDidn't take long to round back 🙂 - Invoice # and Contact fields are now live in the Account Transactions report.
When you next run the Account Transactions report, you'll find options to add either of these fields as \columns to the report, or group/summarise and filter by either of these fields.

Bills - Email incoming bills to Xero to create a task list
My suppliers send me invoices by email.
I would like to be able to forward that email to a (unique) email address at xero that can preprocess that bill and put it in a task list of draft bills so accounts payable can then check them and put them into xero formally for payment.
I envisage this working just like tripit.com - there I can email an itinerary document from say an airline or hotel and it will automatically parse the contents, work out the flights, departure times, arrival times, etc and create entries in tripit for me.
I would…
1 voteHi everyone, this is now possible with either the email to bills feature, or if you've set up and connected Hubdoc to your organisation you could send documents through this.

Expenses - Viewing new expense claims on dashboard
On my dashboard, I can see details of my current and draft expense claims. I have just added some new expenses in my browser using the New Expense Claim page, and I cannot see these on my dashboard.
Is there a way to make these visible?
Thanks
1 voteGreat news everyone, as of mid April 2019, you can track the status of your new Expenses from the Dashboard. The "Recent submissions" section has been added for users in the org with an Admin & Approver roles to stay on top of recent claims - Here's an example of what this looks like.😊

Cash Summary Report - Run for selected period
Hi,
When clients run the cash summary report - they often select Period - 1 month, then compare with - previous 11 periods.
This report can be run at any stage throughout the year showing the previous 12 months (showing each month on its own column to track trends etc) on a cash flow basis (P&L reports not relevant if there is equipment lines, drawings, tax payments etc). Most of my clients run this report regularly as it 100% focuses on the cash, showing cash movements during the period.
My issue with running this report is that it only gives…
1 voteWe wanted to let you know that we've released the improved Cash summary report, where you can now select more flexible date range by clicking the 'Date Range' field, then choose the comparison period from 'Compare with' column.
To get the full picture on how this new feature works, check out our video here!
Note that if you need to add a total column into this report, you can use the layout editor then add a formula that you're trying to get.
Lastly, we really appreciate your input here, so we'll mark this request as delivered. -
Direct Feed - Bank of Scotland / Halifax
Are you able to add Bank of Scotland and the Halifax to the Direct Bank Feeds?
1 voteHi everyone, there's been some changes to how bank feeds work in the EU. Under the new standards, each UK bank is required to develop a gateway or API for third parties to connect to in order to access bank account information.
We're pleased to let you know that as a result, we now have a feed available for both Bank of Scotland, and Halifax accounts - you can check exactly which accounts are supported here.
If a specific account type isn’t showing in the list above, or when you try connect your feed, it's because the account type isn’t available from your bank yet. This differs between banks and account types. We recommend speaking with your bank for more info on what account types are supported by them.
As this request has been completed, I'll go ahead and return your votes to you all. Don't hesitate to get… -
Contacts - Sort by Date Added
On the main Contacts page, please display newly added contacts first or enable a search for recently added contacts. I have Zapier auto importing contact details and this would make things easier. Thanks!
1 votePositive news for you all here, thanks for your contributions to this space. As part of the development and recent changes in Contacts we've enabled the ability to sort by the date a contact was created in Xero! - Take a look here

Projects - Start/Stop Live Time tracking
Hi guys,
Current Harvest user that would love to just use your projects feature, thought you might like to know the only thing stopping me is the ability to track live time.
1 voteHi everyone, we've made some great enhancements to the Projects experience, and would like to share these with you all. 😊
You can now track time from your mobile or desktop computer -Within a project, add time entries by selecting duration or entering Start & Stop times where Xero will calculate duration for you.
Through Projects (iOS and Android) app you have access to a built-in timer so you can carry out work in other apps while still tracking time spent on a project.
And, with our most recent addition you can give Xero Projects permission to access your location data and suggest time entries for you! -
Profit and Loss - Show YTD Option on report as column without using report editor
Show YTD
Show Total
available for selection when running report
Can add them when customising the report, but if you do so, then you will not be able to change the number of comparison periods in the report when you run it each time. Think of a monthly profit and loss report where as each month passes, you would like to show an additional month in the report.
Trying to create a report pack for a client where there will be multiple versions of the profit and loss report each month based on the tracking categories.1 voteHello everyone, hope all is well with you!
We want to let you know that the Year to Date (YTD) option is now available within the Profit & Loss (P&L) report. You can find this feature by clicking the More button, then you can tick the ‘Year To Date’ check box.
If you want to know more about what you can expect in the Reporting feature space in the future, have a look at our blog here.
I’ll mark this request as ‘Done’, so the votes will be returned to you. Thank you for your great feedback that you’ve given here 😃. (Oct 21) -
Account Transactions Report - Display bank account on transactions
Please VOTE for this. I would like my detailed general ledger (and other) reports to show me which bank account the transaction is from.
1 voteHi everyone, we've recently released the related account column to the Account Transactions report, this shows both sides of the journal (so includes bank account) and can display up to 2 accounts, when there are more you can drill down to view these - Take a look over here for more information :)

Inventory - Hide inactive Inventory Items from main page
Under Accounts - Inventory all inventory items are listed, including (dimmed) all Inactive Items. It would be great if a filter was installed on this page that allows all Inactive Items to disappear from the display, and if this setting (Hide Inactive Items) could be retained for further visits to this page.
I know that there are some very detailed inventory reports available where such a filter exists but the Inventory page is simple to access and I am sure a lot of users who have inventory are using it frequently as the prime page to quickly look up stock…
1 voteWe're excited to share the team have made some headway in Inventory, and as part of their first cut of work we've begun rolling out a new look and feel to the Inventory Items List view, and providing the ability to filter your Inventory Items List by 'Active Items' only - Something I'm sure will be pleasing for everyone using products & services or viewing items on a regular basis.🙂(July 21)
