Invoices - Multiple due dates for payments/deposits along with the ability to offer trade terms
Ability to set up multiple due dates for payments/deposits.
Purpose: payments and deposits can be spread throughout different dates.

This is essential to predict cashflow using the cashflow xero add on and to not burden ourself and out clients with multiple invoices.

We too are still looking for this capability and are finding it increasingly important for our business.
1) adding multiple invoices drastically increases the possibility for error and/or time consuming cross checking (missing a date etc.)
2) We depend on a projected P&L for our Board to make decisions throughout the year and cannot do this unless we create multiple invoices rather than one invoice with multiple payment due dates which is what we need.
3)This would provide a cleaner statement for our clients
4) Better reports could be generated for me to provide Calendar year statments (which our clients need for tax purposes, but our fiscal/academic year splits on July 1st, creating the need for manual letters for statments for clients - again, leaving room for error.
5) We are a not for profit, charitable org with limited resources, so many aspects of getting this fixed would save us time and money better spent helping students or fundraising.
6) It would allow greater flexibility in billing clients in a climate where finances are tight for many and there is a greater need for non-standard payment requests. -

Ability to enter multiple shapes for amount and due dates would be such useful functionality and save so much time when processing instalment plans against tuition fee invoices. The number of instalment plan requests are increasing greatly in this current financial climate and the manual effort to process multiple amendments impacts efficiency and response times greatly.

Could really use a feature in Xero to allow customers to use payment plans or paying partial payments

We are selling boats, worth hundreds of thousand of dollars with long production cycles.
The customers have a detailed payment schedule and our books cannot reflect this reality. -

Absolutely need payment terms to allow for payment plans over time.

We Critically need this function to deal with a variety of International customers and ways product is sent to them.

Our clients in the tourism industry desperately need this function! Deposits on booking and final payment before travelling. This is needed for invoicing and bills. They cannot get realistic cash flow predictions without this. PLEASE implement a.s.a.p. Thank you.

Please implement this ASAP.

Come on Xero this is a critical function. I’m tired of having to d plain to customers that our accounting system doesn’t offer this.

Multiple due dates in one invoice is critical!

This is absolutely ridiculous that you can't have multiple due dates. When are you going to change this XERO. This is an accounting program how can you not have the most simplest of items? I am sure there are many clients out there in which invoices are not all paid in full at once. FIX IT!!!

Please implement. This is CRITICAL

Please implement. The cash flow predictions are useless with out this.
I would upgrade to analytics pro, but the data is worthless without this function in place.

- Invoicing:
Deposit Payments, allowing payment dates over "x" number of weeks or months.
This will assist with fever clients getting angry with reminders and also with less admin time to keep on changing the dates.
Or the longer way to load more than one invoice for each client with different dates that waste time and more paperwork, more emails, more annoyed/irritated/confused clients.
Benefits that this improvement will make:
- Cash flow planning
- Instalments management
- Client reminders to ensure they pay accordingly
- Time saving to us the user not to change the dates once part payment is received -

Essential for cashflow planning, not sure how else you could input this information into Xero so it would require an export and manual entry to truely reflect cash in and out for invoices (sales or purchases) that are paid in installments

As a charter business taking a deposit up front and balance months later this function is essential to me being able to efficiently utilise Xero for invoicing bookings.

My invoices have three payment schedule as the work is completed. This feature would be beneficial for cash flow planning.

And the option to add deposit invoices and partial invoices where the invoice number could have -1 or -2 for every additional invoice but the system can recognise they are all for the same job/item.

I voted on this feature request in 2013 and here we are almost a decade later.
Either way my mind is blown with this as it's either not happened because it simply has not received enough votes to be a priority. (Split terms are fairly common so I am surprised only 54 people have voted).
Or there is a demand but the developers have not bothered to implement a pretty basic function.
Here's to me continuing to do split term bills by creating multiple of the same bill with the same tax date and different due dates. Shame as the rest of the functions in Xero work well for me apart for this one irritant.
