You need to add a field to the template to do this. Its such a pain otherwise.

Having the ability to bulk import contacts and associate a contact to groups is critical and so basic. Please add the contact group to the template so we can do it easily.

Also have the contact group field synchronise with other systems like Cin7 would be realy helpful.

I need to be able to bulk import clients in different contact groups. This is so I can use a third party app to migrate details across with their groupings (Adfin). This is for subscriptions we want to take by direct debit, however it would also be good for adding the client manager as a contact group (within our accounting firm).

NOTE: The XERO AI answer to this is incorrect, see attached - you can not bulk update via import the contact groups.

Abilty to add imported customers to a group would make our annual membership invoicing easier.. or the option to bulk add contacts to a group through and upload file

This is how we report for taxable income and there is not report to check that all correct contacts are in this group.

Hi Xero Team, this is an essential and most softwares do have this function. Not only for maintenance but also for new subscribers. Suggestion: use the existing "Skype" column, add this field back to the contact card and you should be almost done in implementing this.

In order for us to edit customer groups in bulk, it would be fantastic if Xero could include the contact group field to the customers template.

Crucial to a new client. I have to include the group in in the contact name as a workaround.

Xero, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE could you just add the Group field to the import file. Surely this is all it takes to connect individual customers to a Group ?

Hundreds of contacts - need to be grouped more easily than one by one! Needs field added to bulk import csv template.

We have hundreds of customers and many groups, and we need to assign each customer to a specific group.
The export file does not contain a field for groups, and it would be extremely tedious and time consuming to have to add each customer to a group by manually selecting them, and then using 'add to group'.
Surely there is a better way to do this via an import file please?

trying to export data for Gov - Annual International Trade in Services. This is nigh on impossible because we cannot search anything by country.

I like many others have had to manually go through and assign customers to a group for speciific countries in order to export income by group, but I have thousands of suppliers and doing it manually is going to take me an age.

Please can this get rolled out. I currently have hundreds of contacts I need to manually move into groups. The lack of this function seems very outdated!

So many needs, such a long time for Xero to address them. Yet again, useful issues lag for years.

WOW, Looks like we are still waiting for Xero to wake up on this one.... maybe listen to your customers are we are all clearly asking for this feature and it really is quite easy to add this into a CSV import field

This would be a huge time saver feature if enabled. Currently having to do this manually and it wastes so much time compared to being able to do a bulk import.

This would be a very useful function - the group function is not as useful without being able to set via import.

Sad to see , over a year of requests for this feature, what I would have thought is a simple feature but no action. Just started to bulk import multiple contacts with a view to separating them into groups and there's no facility to do this. Frustrating!
