Ability to customise a budget manager layout.
Purpose: To make users able to get their preferred figures appear in the budget manager report.

The ability to customize the budget layout is a must have. There is no point having the custom feature in the P&L but not the budget. I need to match the budget to the customized P&L layout, otherwise the budget manager feature is completely redundant for me.

Xero budget is terrible. Only give P and L not an actual cashflow budget. Should have the ability to select from your chart of accounts, to create the budget you require for your business

The great thing about Xero is the simplicity and I would hate to see things too customisable like other software. But I do think Xero's budget module is too simple and lacks flexibility... It will be good if we can add an extra line, or grouped budget.

To have the ability to add in lines to the budget manager is very important - we currently can't see business loans as an amount to budget for, so are having to add figures where they shouldn't be. This means we can't compare back to actual figures through out the year. I would love to see customisation available sooner rather than later!

We have a detailed p and l which includes a number of departments all of which have income and expenditure and which have inter-relationships with other departments. It makes entering and preparing the budget quite difficult.

To be able to add equity items like partner drawings would be a good idea. Potentially to allow the cash summary summary report to have a budget extension.

The Budget Variance Report is FANTASTIC with it's edited layout, however it would be great if you could upload the templates you make on there, as an actual budget.
Something else that would be amazing would be the ability to upload a budget with customised timeframes. EG a lot of our business reporting re sales etc is done fortnightly, uploading a budget in fortnights would be great.

Currently the budget summary report is very basic, it does not allow you to select multiple departments when filtering nor does it allow you to edit the layout in any way. By allowing these features it would give us the overall total budget for the year which has been uploaded to xero for review. It would be beneficial to be able to edit the report layout to give us the information we need from it

To have the ability to view a budget against Capitalised items would greatly enable us to be able to better customise our reporting and avoid having to use either expensive apps or manual spreadsheets to achieve the analysis we would like to have. The current budget manager template is restrictive and we would appreciate being able to add to it or to set it up with filters so that reports can be generated from it.

To be able to create a comprehensive forecast it is critical to be able to add multiple sales lines. We managed to do this by adding lines through chart of accounts, although this is time consuming and not intuitive. To be able to edit the budget manager is essential to make it useful.

I would also add my support for all comment below to adding customized layout for budget manager for easier and better understanding for Investor to see and calculate.
Sometimes they want us to have simple yet included all the information with this Budget Manager. -

I would add my support to having better functionality in budget manager. All of my clients have a customised format for the P&L and this is also how they budget. To then have to try and sort and/or enter the budget line by line in a format that is completely different to how we are budgeting makes this process very tedious and time consiming

As a Xero user, its Budget Manager function would be more useful to our organisation if we could edit and choose the categories, be it a P&L item or a balance sheet item.
We have quite a bit of Research and Development which go to the balance sheet and there is no option to allocate a budget to that area.Alternatively, if a generic budget could be created where just a lumpsum amount is allocated it could be helpful as we have intergraded ApprovalMax to Xero - This would allow us to report on which classification of expense is using the budget. Kind of like reverse tracking of the budget vs actual.
Having flexibility on budget tracking, to match it individual organisational needs, would make this function more usable and attractive to consumers like myself and others who have complained about this.

My Board are very critical of the layout and it reduces confidence in the accounting system if the reports are not easily understood by Directors. Customising the accounts in a budget report is an urgent function that Xero needs to fix asap.

Please Xero could you add in a budget manager edit function. Alphabetical order rather than cost code order/groups means our categories are all jumbled. We'd need this to mirror our custom P&L for management reporting.

Please add in a way to customise the budget on the budget management tool. Would be ideal to add new rows, delete unwanted rows, change data and be able to separate the nominal codes from the description. Also, if there was a way to add say 2% from the average of the past 12 months to the next 12 month projection, that would be amazing! :) thank you.
