Hi everyone, we're grateful for your feedback on improving Find and Recode, and recognise how sorting by description could enhance your ability to review and recode transactions.

While not a direct solution, you could filter by Contact and then in the browser Ctrl + F to search highlight keywords in descriptions and find the right transactions. We know it's not perfect, but might help narrow things down.

To be transparent and provide some clarity here, there are no planned changes to change the functionality within Find & recode right now. We will share if our position around this changes and there are any updates for you all here.

    This would be such a great addition to the find & recode option. I can filter in say Account Transactions using description with a contains option. Why is this not included as am option in Find & Recode? I understand that there is likely to be a big impact on performance BUT..... In short, this would be a real help in our business!

    It's mad to think that the sorting option actually greys out the option to sort by description. Xero have actually thought about it and instead of allowing to sort by all columns, they purposefully STOP us from doing this. It's ludicrous, don't they know how people work or are they being daft on purpose?

    I wish they would stop coming out with new unfinished features, and instead focus on making the existing software work better.

    Would also be good if we can show details from bank feeds (payee, reference, etc) as the transactions created in Xero don't always match the bank statement lines.

    Find and recode parameter should include description. This would be the easiest way to find an incorrectly allocated transaction & correctly allocate it

    Why is description not there? Sometimes it is the only way to identify transactions that need recoding.
